Here is to wishing that the great Commander Vander gets a good win and then decides to retire several weeks later -
He is 10 years (or more) past his prime - He has accomplished all one can accomplish - I hope he gets a win and bows out - |

Holyfield picking up a win might be the worst possible thing that can as it might convince he can still compete. Hopefully, he loses a clear cut deicison were he doesn't take to much punishment and then he calls it quits.

But it's been a very long time since he's been a good fighter, and quite a while since he's even been ring worthy. Now he just risks further damage. I wish he'd lose, see the light, and walk away.

Don't get me wrong I would love to see Evander get the win and retire, I just don't think he will retire if he wins heck I have my doubts if he will retire even if he loses. I just hopes that regardless of what happens in this next match it's his last.

Evander should rest on his laurels, he has nothing to prove.
He is a champion, I really don't know what is going though Evander's head, is it money? , does he still think he has something to prove?,we all know he doesn't. Can Evander be another George Foreman? My gut is telling me no.Its time for him to gracefully bow out. Move on . And take his place in boxing history... |

I agree that Evander doesn't have anything to prove.
I wish he would stay retired. It's very pathetic that a man that many would regard as one of the best HWs ever, or at least of his era, wants to step into the ring once again, years and years after his prime. Move on, Evander. Manage some fighters, nurture the next world-dominating HW, be a boxing analyst, be a promoter....but stay the heck out of the ring. I won't watch this fight. I won't even bother to check the net or the morning paper to see who won. Last edited by Antonin : 08-10-2006 at 06:36 PM. |

It is not pathetic at all - Again, is Evander past his prime (most certainly) so are apprx 50% of all athletes playing in professional sports at any given time - Do I wish he would have retired? Yes. I wish he would have went out way back in 97 when it was clear he was past his best days. When he beat Moorer in their second fight....his hand speed and legs were already starting to decline (it was clear then). However the notion that Evander fighting or still wanting to get in the ring and test himself.....as an adult man....who has every right to make decisions for himself.....No, that is not pathetic. Now if coming off these 3 losses he would have been given a title shot....well then, maybe that would have been pathetic of a championship belt to saction such a fight. But Evander simply fighting another fighter within the HW division is not pathetic at all....in and of itself. But perhaps what is a real pitty is that some close to you....won't tell you....you clearly have the intellect of an adolescent child by insisting on your childish avatar on a boxing forum. But then again..... Last edited by meade95 : 08-10-2006 at 08:00 PM. |

If you respect the hell out of that type behavior.......so be it. I find it quite odd that childish pictures (avatar's) and or completely ill-informed and completely off topic posts are allowed to be posted or made.....and that is fine (totally acceptable)....yet if someone takes a little jab back at this childish / foolish behavior.....Well then, that is just awful and wrong. Get out of dodge. Last edited by meade95 : 08-10-2006 at 09:59 PM. |

Not to mention completely slanderous pictures ... but anyways just do what I did Meade and put him on your ignore list ... bplotkin's only purpose in this forum is to cause problems, he has never once contributed a single thing to this forum.
He also has consistently just made things up to start arguments, like his whole thing with Fusion all of which was made up. But watch as he tries to take credit for them working on it now .. when everyone knows it was Danny's fight for the longest time and he went about it the right way, he didn't just make things up. Just ignore him, he's not worth the effort. |

This forum is about boxing. More avatars than not that I've seen are not about boxing, whether it is the football cowboys (hate 'em), cubs (not my team) or any number of bimbos guys consider attractive. Who cares. It is all part of what someone feels important. Your scatter shot commentary from your far-right wing perch is anything but impressive to me. Maybe you should stick to boxing and then the rest of us wouldn't be so embarrassed for you. I'd also suggest your "ill-informed" label is merely a matter of perspective

If some on here want to post silly and foolish comments - When they are responded to....so be it. If some want to post silly and childish avatar's - When they are responded to...so be it. I've seen plenty of people make comments about "the cowboys suck"...and that is that.....Well if your avatar is a childish / third grade material.....expect a jab at you every now and then. Another fact is - I've never once posted anything political (party related) simply for the fact to post it - And I've been here since 2003!! Bud. I've only responded (once in a great while) to others silly rants - Reality is Lethel Liberal forever had his silly avatar up there (I never said a word).....only responded to him after a number of his silly, ill-informed posts regarding subjects which had nothing to do with boxing. And bud no one is embarrassed for me. Children try and make points like that. Grow up. Last edited by meade95 : 08-10-2006 at 10:59 PM. |
