Klitschko-Maskaev

Read on fightnews.com the other day that negotiations are under way for WBC-IBF unification bout between Oleg Maskaev and Wladimir Klitschko. I would predict Wlad in 8. Any thoughts?

If this bout would be, i think what Maskaev will win, because he more progressive Russian bear!!! I'm sure - Oleg Maskaev by TKO 10.

According to fightnews.com, it looks as if Wlad's mandatory, Ray Austin, isn't very pleased with Klitschko's pursuing a unification match instead of defending the belt against him first. Ray thinks that he has a shot against the champ because they are similar in size. I think that Austin would have very little chance against Wladimir, because, despite his impressive dimensions, he suffers from a serious lack of power; somewhat similar to Jameel McCline. Klitschko by KO.

Austin has performed ok lately, much better than his TB rating would indicate but he would get pounded by Wlad......man it hurt to say that.

I would rather see Wlad fight Oleg as long as Oleg wins in his upcoming bout....which isn't a sure thing.

I agree with you about a Klitschko vs Austin match-up. Wlad simply is on another level so far as skill is concerned. Also, despite being as big as the champ, Ray doesn't have the kind of power to seriously challenge him the way a fighter like Samuel Peter did. Personally, I would place Austin's HP at about a 6 at this stage in his career.

I would give Peter Okhello a punchers chance against Oleg Maskaev, and little more. The champion's chin isn't exactly made of granite, but he certainly posesses greater skill than the challenger. I hope that "The Big O" gets past Okhello, because I think that a spring unification match between he and Wlad would be very interesting.

Wald KO's both Austin and Maskaev - Both are vastly overrated -

Hell I believe in all honesty Maskaev is the only champion out there who a washed up / over the hill Holyfield would defeat .....simply because of his style / chin -
