Saturday night Showtime fights

As big of a Cotto fan as I am, I think we will see two upsets this night ... I think Antonioverrated Margarito loses and I think Quintana beats Cotto.

HBO fights I think Lacy and Wright cruise.

Wow, as a Cotto fan, that's a big prediction for you.

I predict Antonio is so impressive, he knocks out the winner of the other fight too.

Joshua might give him a tussle though.

Well Antonio's hype may knock them all out. If he beats Clottey then maybe I'll give him some credit. Quintana was so impressive against Julio, but I'll be pulling for Cotto that's for sure.

I hear ya. Did you see that pic of Quintana next to Cotto? This looks to be the biggest guy I can ever recall Cotto fighting. It really did look like a WW vs. a JWW. I know Carlos can punch so it will be interesting to see what sort of pop Cotto can bring up to 147.

He's gotta get to that body early to slow Quintana down ... Julio never would let his punches go. Cotto has been in a few wars and is willing to take a shot to get his in. My heart says Cotto in 8, my head says Quintana by UD.

Good points. Either way, Sat. night has some great boxing with both SHO & HBO having pretty interesting cards.

A friend wants me to go to a bar & watch Nebraska vs. Oklahoma Sat. night with her & her friends but I told her there are too many good fights on that night.

My head is with you on these

My heart says

Cotto inside 8
Clottey UD

Wright UD (although what are the chances Wright is still too busy crying in his head to concentrate on this fight)

Lacy KO3

I've got:
Cotto KO 9
Margarito TKO 11
Quartey KO 10
Tsypko UD

I feel like Cotto is the bigger puncher and I think his power should translate up a division although Quintana could give him a hell of a fight. Clottey is good but I still feel like Margarito doesn't get as much credit as he should. One thing is for sure, we'll find out if Margarito is truely overrated or underrated on Saturday. For Quartey I think it is just a case of third time is the charm. His two biggest fights are arguably the De La Hoya and Vargas fights and he fields as though he was robbed in both so I just think that those fights would have to drive him to come into this fight in maybe the best shape of his career. Wright is a superior defender but I think that Quartey is one of the better fighters P4P of the last 10 years and I just feel like he'll see this as his last chance to right past wrongs. As far as Tsypko he is much bigger than Lacy and although he lost to a similar fighter in Chanet(shorter and very aggressive), I just feel like Lacy might not have the tools to not only overcome a southpaw, but a much bigger fighter to boot.

Wow, Ike by KO? That would be the prediction of the year if that comes true!

Normally I'd agree with you, but lately for me fights have been so unpredictable that I feel safer taking odds on the longshots.

I could see Quartey doing that if Winky's mind is other places (still upset about the Taylor fight) or looking ahead to a rematch with the afformentioned Taylor. All he has done since then is complain and moan on how he got screwed. One of these days that is going to come back and bite him.

Great weekend of boxing thats for sure. I like Cotto as well Mike, but Quintana looked so good against Julio. It will be a very good fight..really a toss-up. Also,I think Margarito is a bit overrated myself,it will be interesting to see how he fares against Clottey. Its funny that Margarito talks about Floyd ducking him,but he refused to fight his mandatory..Paul Williams. I think Williams may be the wild card in this class. Great division though...we all should have a better feel for this division after tonite. I think Lacy wins in impressive fashion, and although I think Winky is a great fighter,he cant look past the tough Quartey. Winky has seemed a little off in his last couple of fights with Soliman and Taylor. Although he has come out of them OK..one has to wonder:is he starting to slow down a bit? I think that will be answered one way or another Saturday night. Quartey has always been able to get just close enough to see the top of the mountain, but hasnt really scaled it yet. I believe it will be a decent scrap. What a great night of boxing!

It was a close fight but I gotta say I had it 96-94 Tyspko and I think he was hard done by the decision.

If anyone thinks Margarito can beat Cotto they are a fool! Margarito got smoked in the first 4 rounds ... Cotto looked like a beast. Margarito the most overrated boxer maybe in the history of the sport.

Cotto ... I'm sorry I doubted you!!!!

Is there an undercard for Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista? They said it's today.

I read that Bautista fought on the undercard of the Wright and Lacy card, I believe he won by KO.

Thanks. He's an undercard but in the Philippines he's the main event thus Wright's fight is being shown right now and Bautista will be shown after.
