Thumbs up Boxing Biographies: The Heavyweights now Available!

Hello, all of you:

Because of my terrible habit of making announcements and then disappearing, I made myself a vow not to populate this forum until I had something in hand and ready to go.

That being said, I'm proud to announce that "Boxing Biographies: The Heavyweights 2006-2007 is now ready for sell and download. The website address to find the publication is:

www.wclassboxing.com

In the near future, an advertisement and link will be found on the OOTP site. I simply haven't gotten any material to Andreas yet.

Please, veterans, take a close look at the example on the website before ordering. I want you to make sure that the information will be useful and not something that you already know.

Your order entitles you to a download and FREE updates, each time the publication goes through a number of changes. The updates will be sent to you automatically and you should expect a minimum of 4 updates throughout 2007.

Of course, my goal is to also make the publication look more professional each time out, as well as keeping the material current.

The website is going to contain feature articles, free to all visitors, that will deal specifically with fighters who have fought in different divisions throughout their career. The first to be dissected and analyzed will be Hector "Macho" Camacho, who went through some dramatic changes as he moved up in weight (and after his beating at the hands of Edwin Rosario).

If this publication meets with approval, I intend to do the same for other divisions, which ones depending upon YOUR choice.

As for the computer boxing game, all I can tell you is that internal matters have finally been ironed out and major news should be forthcoming by the end of the year.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and I wish you a very happy Christmas holiday, be it Christmas, Kwanza, Hunuka or any other form of worship or festivities you engage.

I am gonna check it out. Sounds interesting. Good to hear that things have been "ironed out". Best of luck Jim and thanks for giving us a heads up.

Not Sure What to Say <smile>

Well, it was nice to see that my post was read by over 170 people; sadly it only resulted in one sell. Maybe you guys are just too knowledgable for the publication; or maybe it simply wasn't done well; or - who knows?

If anyone wishes to provide feedback, I'd be grateful. I had hoped that this would be a useful resource, in a quick digestible format but I must have missed something.

Considering that the file was over 40 pages, I didn't think the price was exhorbitant, especially with a year's worth of free updates.

Again, any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks all!
Jim

I just haven't got around to it yet Jim. A tad busy but will do so this week.

Are you advertising elsewhere? This is a rather small market and 170 views could easily just be a dozen or so regulars here opening the thread multiple times.

Best wishes,

Christopher

What do I know? Maybe people would be more interested in bios of old-timers? I don't know. Wish I could tell you something more useful. Can you add these individual bios to the game?

I tried to buy it but the pay pall page is not recognizing me or my credit card. I don't have a pay pal account but have successfully used this non-paypal procedure in the past with the same card on previous occasions so I don't know what the problem is. I don't know if anyone else has had the same problem.

Ignore the message. i trid it again and it worked this time.

I do plan on buying it but concentrating on Xmas presents right now. I will say that I would have bought it already if it came with updated game ratings on each one.

I think it would be useful for those who like the game, but who are not boxing fans, I have to say most who post on this board are die hard boxing fans!

But with that being said, for those who runs, uni's this would be awesome, even die hard fans don't have each fighter broken down as you have done, and it might serve as entertainment for the posters who post there uni results, as they can say <Name> is a big puncher, but has a weak chin that <Name> can take advantage of.

I will buy it, even tho I don't post, or have a site as a once did, I still do my own round by round scoring of each fight a run and of course when there is a surprise or a great fight i might be screamin at the top of my lungs like DOWN GOES SUGAR RAY LEONARD!!! Hahahaha my fiance and my little daughter got use to it by now.

Just My Thoughts On This One

I think that an updated fighter list including the retired old time fighters being tweaked a little Jim and offered for the same price would have been a much better seller. If you cant get the sales on this site with your followers here i think its very unlikely that it will sell well on other boxing sites. To be honest Jim good as the Title Bout 2 game was i was hard pushed to get sales for you on other boxing sites. I mostly post at the cyberzone run by Steve *GorDoom* and i only managed to get about 3 interested in the game there, in spite of giving it a glowing report. As i said, i personally think your time Jim would have been better spent on an updated data disk.

Has anyone else ordered and not received the file? I did back in early December and nothing ever was sent. I emailed Jim a few times and included the receipt but haven't heard anything back so I simply gave up.
