I hate to burst Antonio's bubble but he is not the greatest LHW ever. Off hand there are about 10-15 that were way better than him and even his rating of ten in TB2 is very generous. He actually thinks he's better than Rosenbloom or Greb? Those two would have made Tarver look more foolish than Hopkins did.
I think both him (UD) and Dawson (mid round KO) will win their fights easily. Hopefully "Bad Chad" will put this clown out of his misery this fall. |

I agree and i'm a fan boy of Dawson, too. If given the chance with his talent, he would clean out the division. Tarver is shot as a fighter and it wouldn't be surprising if he struggled to beat Muriqui.

A buddy of mine taped the fight. He said Tarver looked good. As good as he ever has, to quote him. Maybe the rest did him good. Some are even calling the fight a good candidate for fight of the year. There were some big shots traded between the two throughout.

Tarver did look good, a bit rusty and he looked fatigued after throwing multiple punches at a time. Tarver wasn't worried at all and he was never hurt by any punches thrown by Muriqi. IMO, I dont think he will be able to withstand the body attack that Dawson will throw at him and he doesnt have the power to keep Dawson from coming at him. Tarver has a lot more experience but I believe that he is done unless he can keep fighting guys without k.o. power like Roy Jones Jr. Mayweather Sr. will have Dawson wearing out that 38-year old body just like Rocky Balboa! No way was it a FOY type fight. Maybe unexpectedly entertaining and a bit closer scored than one may have thought.

That is not to say that it wasn't a good fight. It was the best fight on the card and a fantastic fight to be at.

Especially to see those 3 "specific" fans in white t-shirts who were Muriqi fans! Last edited by btown32 : 06-10-2007 at 09:24 AM. |

No, they did get his fans and the flags on the television. His fans were very vocal...but I meant the 3 girls in the white tees that they specifically showed on tv. Now that is a special fan club!

It was a very entertaining fight and much closer that I thought it would be. Muriqui was very game and determined but he didn't have enough power to keep Tarver at bay. Dawson will use his body attack to wear out Tarver and will probably score a late KO if they do fight. |
