Hands of Stone II
This is to Rom, Erik or any of the MMA fans. Is that Spike card on Tuesday night any good?
I see some guy named Sam Stout has nicknamed himself: "Hands of Stone" - gee, I wonder where he got that one? Is Stout any good? To give himself the same nickname as one of the best boxers ever, he better be! Saw another fight will pit The Barn Cat vs. The Secret Weapon At least those are original nicknames! |

The next Fight Night is solid for a free TV card. The UFC seems to be using these cards now to give some of their lesser known fighters the spotlight which I like and think it's a smart move to do so.
Sam Stout is pretty good fighter, he's 11-2 with 7 (T)KOs and 1 Sub. He's got very good standup but he's not so good on the ground. He got tapped by Kenny Florian in 1:45 at the TUF 3 finale. It should be a damn good match, his first fight with Spencer Fisher was a low end FOTYC that Stout took when Spencer gassed in the final round. However, Spencer took the fight a couple of days before and cut 20 pounds on the day of the weigh-ins so he wasn't in top from. It should be a good fight between a couple of guys with very good stand-up ability. I'm taking Spencer to win this their about equal standing but I think Spencer is far better on the ground. The second fight on the card is Jon Fitch vs Roan Carneiro. Fitch is the real main event on this show, He's 5-0 in the UFC 13-2 overall and Top 10 in the world at 170. All 5 of his UFC fights have been against very tough fighters and not a single one has been close. Fitch has crushed all of them. This is going to be only his second Televised fight as he's been stuck in dark matches for most of his fights. He's extremely powerful wrestler who just takes people down and mauls them. Roan " Jucao" Carneiro is 11-5 overall and 1-0 in the UFC. He's good ground fight, got very good subs, and is probably going to get ran over but if this whole crazy upsets thing hits this card then this will be the fight that it happens in. The opener of televised portion is Drew McFedries vs. Jordan Radev. I don't know anything about Jordan Radev never seen him fight as most of his fights have been in Europe. All I know is that he's 11-1 and I only know one fighter on his record. Thats Jorge Santiago who's a solid fighter and a good win for Radev. Drew McFedries on the other hand I do know. He's a stand up fighter with Big power in his hands but a weak ground game. He's 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the UFC. There are some interesting fights in the dark matches but since we probably won't see those I'm not going to go over them.

Ha, yes it is a great nickname. Looking at his record I think there might be a fair shot that this fight will end up on TV both him and Pete Spratt like to end fights quickly so there seems to be a good chance that this fight doesn't get out of the first so if the main card fights are quick it could be shown.
