Sergio Mora's Chin

I just watched an old episode of the contender and after that I looked at Sergio Mora's record at boxrec.

What can you tell me about him as a boxer? Has anyone seen him fighting outside the contender show (I haven't seen a single fight)? Has he been tested for real yet? His KO punch isn't his best weapon if you go by his record. How is his chin?

I saw that he is scheduled against Kassim Ouma. Ouma is not a bad fighter.

Mora doesn't really have a KO punch but his all out offensive style can make any fight he is in exciting. His chin seems pretty good but it has not been really tested against a real power puncher.

Thank you for the info. What do you you think about the fight against Ouma?

I think it's a bad fight for Mora since he hasn't fought for a year. He was stupid to turn down the Taylor fight. Not that he would've won but it was a big paycheck.

One thing for sure is Mora-Ouma might set the record for combined punches thrown.

I think Ouma will beat Mora on sheer volume punching alone. If Kassim throws 100+ punches every round, he'll win easily.

Mora should have taken the fight with Taylor because just like Mike said it would be a nice paycheck despite the fact he would have lost.

The only fight I can recall seeing Mora in since or before The Contender was against the 6-4 Eric Regan. I thought Mora might lose that fight but was surprised when he won that one.

Read Eric was blown out in like one round a few weeks ago though.

It's a shame i get to see so little from american fighters. Eurosport broadcast a lot of european fights of different quality (both high and low end matches).

I also get the occasional titlefight from the U.S. Often it airs a couple of months after it took place.

I really wish that I got to see more of the "casual" american scene.

Mora has an interesting style and throws a lot of punches, so the fight between him and Ouma (IMO) is worth the PPV alone (undercard of Marquez fight I think).

In the end I think Ouma wins pretty easily, but I've doubted Mora before so we shall see.

Donny McCrary blasted Regan with one punch in the first round. I find that quite amusing because he did the same thing to Allan Green but they say he has no punch.
