Diaconu/Dawson should be an entertaining fight. Have they announced if it will be in Montreal or somewhere in the US?
Typical of Bell to pull out of a fight shortly before it will take place. A guy with his level of inactivity should never be taken seriously. |

I'm glad the fight will take place in New Haven. Surprised that Interbox didn't make a stink over their fighter not being able to have the fight in his backyard. Doesn't matter where it takes place, Dawson should be able to outbox Diaconu and get a UD victory.

Dawson is too fast and skilled for Tarver at this point. Dawson would also defeat B-Hop and Winky without too much difficulty from what I saw last weekend. Hopkins and Wright looked too slow. Dawson's only weakness is a less then average chin. He should never move up to CW but could remain the LHW champion for sometime.
From what I've seen from Diaconu, he will be in this fight. It isn't a cake walk title defense and I'm impressed with Dawson for taking it. Dawson 116 Diaconu 112 MJ

Dawson's chin is above average and the times he was knocked down were more of the flash variety rather than being hit flush and getting his bell rung. Diaconu is going to be a real test for Dawson but he'll remain LHW champion for the forseeable future.

anyway as Diaconou is not the champion, but if the fight had been in Montreal I would have gone on a road trip, as I have seen a couple of good fights already this year including Lucien Bute. Greg

Per maxboxing bit on Aug. 27, the fight is taking places at the Arco Arena in San Fran.
From all reports, it seems Tarver was offered $2 mil to fight Dawson at Foxwoods, which he turned down. And from all ensuing commentary (and I'll agree) Tarver will likely find he's offered 10-15% of that figure to fight a lesser name somewhere else. I'm not sure if Arco had a better bid for Dawson-Anyone Else than Foxwoods or if the 'Woods just wasn't interested.
