I like this idea - A TBCB Top 10 - Good call mh2365 -

Then I go to do my own....and hell, as much as I completely love this sport.....It is down right now.....I don't think I can name 10 people I truly think deserve to be on a Top 10 P4P list.....

But I still plan to post one by tomorrow.......Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting boxing is dying or the UFC is going to take over (the UFC has no shot whatsoever at replacing boxing...and I'm a somewhat fan of the UFC...but it is not on the same level of boxing).....Boxing will bounce back in the next few years......but IMO, I really see it as being down right now......From HWs to Strawweight...(with the expection of just a few divisions).

None of us have listed JMM yet ... hmmm

I'd like to get about 10 ... I think we could do this every couple of months.

Good list, I was wandering what little guy you would get in there. Hasegawa is a pretty good choice .. finally JMM makes an appearance!

I'd do a list but I am not sure I've seen enough of any of the fighters to make a top 10 (I really only watch when boxing is on HBO). I don't think I've even seen Israel Vazquez fight. So, I will refrain.

I am surprised Hopkins is so high on a lot of lists. I wouldn't even consider him for a top 10...and I don't even know enough of the fighters!

Looking at these lists has me drooling for Kessler/Calzaghe

* I think Vasquez gets hit far too much to be in the top ten and cuts too easily. If it was a top ten TV list, he would be at or near the top.

I will preface this by saying I thought the first Taylor-Hopkins fight was clearly won by Taylor and the second one was closer ... Hopkins, in some eyes, won both fights. Then moved up and demolished Tarver and handled Winky Wright with not much problems. I hate Hopkins but at 42 he is still good enough to beat 95% of LHW-MW fighters.

MJ
Vasquez might get cut a lot but he's one of the top two or three fighters in the JFW division. His defense might be a little weak but he's very adept in all other areas and has beat a lot of top fighters in his weight class. That alone makes it hard not to consider him as a p4p fighter.
