Triumph & Tragedy The Ray Mancini Story

With the 25th Anniversary of his fight with Duk Koo Kim approaching ESPN Classic is doing a documentary on Ray. It is airing Tuesday Night at 8 Eastern. I can't believe it has been 25 years, I remember that fight like it was yesterday and what a fight it was. Sportscenter showed some of the documentary this morning looks like it will be pretty good. Just throwing this out there for any one who may have or like myself am still a fan of Ray

A terrific fight with tragic consequences.

It was an incredible fight. Tonight on Sportscenter or after sportscenter not sure was half asleep when I heard it but they will be repalying the first 8 rounds of the fight not sure why just the first 8 maybe will show the remaining rounds later. But the war they raged was incredible. During the clips Sportscenter showed today Ray said this was the only fight even considering the ones he lost that he actually felt like quitting. Still can't believe it's been 25 years

Okay now that I'm more awake here is some more info

Additionally, SportsCenter will devote the final half hour of Friday’s 90-minute 6 p.m. show to Triumph and Tragedy content.

Outside the Lines (3 p.m. M-F) will run a Ray Mancini- related story Sunday, 9:30 a.m. on ESPN and noon on ESPNEWS.

That was a great Fight! I was such a Mancini fan that I actually teared up in the 15th when he was begging the Ref and the Doctor to let him finish the fight. I was yelling too, "Let him finish he can win!!" LOL.

I still love boxing, but honestly I can never be in to it as much as I was in the late 70's and all through the 80's. Those were great years with a lot of great fighters.
