does anyone here play TB with current fighters?

I am thinking that most if not all of the people who play this game and visit this forum are exclusively interested in old fighters. Several times I've posted about ratings for current fighters as I like to preview big upcoming bouts by playing them with this simulation. Each time my posts have either been mostly or completely ignored.

The day of Cotto vs. Mosely I asked about trying to find a rating for Cotto and got zero help. I know that many people here watch today's but I am curious as to why nobody seems to use today's fighters in the game?

The first thing to do is to use the board search (top right corner) within the mods forum and search for the fighter that you want. If he has been posted it should turn up. If that fails, ask if someone can post a rating for you.

It seems that most people who ask for a rating get one posted if one exists. Sorry if your earlier requests fell through the cracks. I suppose it has a lot to do with who happens to be on-line before a request is somewhat burried.

You can always ask a second time as well - no is ignored on purpose, but things said do go un-noticed at times unfortunately.

Thanks. I had actually forgot that manyh updates and new fighters were in the mods section. I had been looking in the fighter database. But I was amazed that my post asking if anyone had Cotto, put right in the midst of a very active thread the day of the bout Saturday that nobody responded.

Thanks again.

I had just posted in that thread and didn't see your post until I read this and had to go back. A lot of times in threads about certain fights people don't read as much as they just post their opinions.

Also the next post in the thread had a link and a quote in it so it attracts the eyes more. Granted those are just excuses on why no one answered you but ....

Next time you need a rating start a new thread saying like "Cotto rating needed" it would draw more attention.

By the way do you still need a Cotto file?

I will take your advice next time for sure. I found the Cotto file that Ice Tea posted in June and I am using that. My first couple of fights between him and Mosley have resulted in him putting Mosley on the canvas in each fight and knocking him out one of those bouts.

Thanks for the reply and the advice.

It is, I think, much easier to rate a guy at prime whose career is over, than to try to size up and grade a currently active mitt slinger who might explode before your eyes in his next fight. I admire the fellas on this board who make the attempt. Some are better than others at it.
