Cuts?
Why am I getting so many cut stoppages? So many of my fighters that are rated "1" for resistance to cuts are being being tko'd by cuts. I just had Muhammad Ali stopped on cuts in two consecutive fights and I can't recall him ever being cut in a bout, what gives?

Are you using the generic cut men? If so, you may need to adjust their ability to stop cuts. Cap

You can't change the ratings of the generic cut men. You can use other cut men though. Here's the thing I play this game every single day and it is rare that I see one cut stop a fight. Generally it is around the 3rd to 4th time the cut is reopened.
That is realistic. The cut routine was redone in TBCB2 and I'm not sure it needs to be reworked again. There are times where one cut stops the fight but IMO it is rare and there are fights in real life where one cut stops the fight. |

It's also possible something flukey happened to you. Sometimes people get a little angry when something unrealistic happens, but it could be that you fight Ali another 200 times and he never gets cut.

Thanks guys for your input. However I still think I'm either missing something or perhaps am playing using the wrong settings. I just finished a fight between Oscar Bonavena and Joe Frazier and wouldn't you know Frazier gets cut in the 5th round and the fight is stopped soon thereafter. I find that hard to fathom being that Frazier is rated a "1" against cuts and I know that he was never stopped by a cut. What settings do you guys use to get the most realistic results.

I think maybe you are having the worst luck with the game in the world ... no one really has those type of results ... look at the bout log .. how many times was the cut reopened? One punch cuts and stopped fights are rare. They used to happen all the time then they changed the cut routine and it is very rare now.

Referee could be a factor . . they are rated for stoppage tendencies and can be Early or Late. I know this plays into punishment TKO's, have seen plenty of evidence to support that, am not sure about cuts, but it's worth considering.

It can just go in spurts sometimes too, I have easily gone 40-50 fights without a cut stoppage before. Then I had 3 stoppages due to cuts on the same card tonight. I blame the Reyes gloves

I recall now that I've only assigned the generic cutmen to the lesser lights of my boxing universe. Name guys get "real" trainer/cutmen and I've increased the ability to stop cuts for most of them. I was really PO'd when Joe Louis lost on a first round cut to some wino. So I've gone around and "adjusted" a number of fighters' corners. And if they know whats good for them, they'll stay adjusted.

top fighters I made posts on boxrec boxing encyclopedia in the trainers section, and that may be of some help. Also some of those postings have now been included in the World Boxing Hall of Fame website. Greg

Thanks Cap. I was surprised when I saw it myself.
