EOY TBCB forum P4P
Will take votes for now through 12/31 ... I don't have mine yet, will post mine tomorrow probably.
The next one will run in the second half of March. Ideally I'd like to get 10-15 votes. |

1. PBF
2. PacMan (at 130 and below) 3. Joe C. 4. I. Vasquez 5. R. Marquez 6. M. Cotto 7. JMM 8. Kelly Pavlik 9. R. Hatton (140) 10. H. Hasegawa ** BHop -- likely belongs, but lost his last 2 at MW...and Tarver is not in the top-3 LHW IMO...the more I think about it. I believe right now in boxing is one of the hardest time periods for trying to place fighters on this list. In past times there were always it seemed more guys in their primes and deserving to certainly be on such a list......There of course was always area for debate with regard to/for 2 or 3 spots within a P4P list....but today it is hard to place 6 or 7 guys.....IMO. 1. Mayweather Jr. - Finally impressed with good stoppage win over high profile opponent. Don't think he would risk his record by taking on Cotto, but that fight would go a long way to continuing to cement his legacy in the game if that is what he is interested in. He deserves more credit for taking on quality opposition for his last two fights. BTW - I am not really a fan of his, but he does a good job of playing the villian to market himself and continues to win without taking much damage. The most impressive thing about PBF, IMO, is the way he always stays in shape and works to keep in condition. Have seen too many athletes with such great potential, get out of shape after making a little money.
2. Calzaghe - Very impressed with his win over Kessler. Wasn't a believer until this fight. 3. Cotto - Just like the energizer bunny, keeps pluggin away, taking on whoever they put in front of him. Like the fact that he took it upon himself to speak in English to become a more marketable fighter. 4. Pavlik - Love his style of boxing, just like Cotto. Always moving forward and brings excitement to a fight. Impressed with his heart and ability to get off the floor to beat Taylor. 5. Dawson - Will be interested to see how far his career will go because I dont think too many people are going to get in line to fight him. Seems to get better with each fight. 6. Pacquiao - I dont believe he still has the fire. Too many distractions, too far from the hungry fighter he was before he got all the money. I have it that he spends too much time in the casinos and stays out all night, drinking and gambling. Slipping in the rankings in my opinion. He was not very impressive in the last fight and Barrera was standing right there in front of him. MAB was a shot fighter waiting to be knocked out. 7. Juan Diaz - Another fighter that brings the action every fight in the mold of Pavlik/Cotto. 8. Hatton - Will be interested to see how he responds after losing first fight. Needs to stay in better shape in off season so that he can make weight easier. 9. JMM - Not impressed with his last fight. Looks to be slowing down IMO. 10. Vasquez/Marquez - How can you separate the two! This has to be the best series and most anticipated of rematches in a long time.
