Question Tournaments & The Calendar: Scheduling Question

I run a fictional boxing universe where fighters fight every 3 months. Champs must fight certain contenders, like in real life.

What I would like to do is run a 16-boxer tournament over the course of one year. Example: 8 bouts in Jan., then 4 bouts in April, then 2 bouts in July, then the final in October. At the same time this is going on, I want all the rest of my boxers (about 150) to keep fighting every 3 months too outside of the tourney. How do I save each round of tournament matches, keep fighting the regular bouts, and then resume the tourney's next matches 3 months later? Do I have to fight the tourney all at once? Or can I stop and start it like I want? Does it mess up the calendar?

Thanks for your advice - I don't want to botch up my cool little world.

Go into the tourney and set your fighters. Set your event date for the first round and then set "Days between brackets" at 90. I set it at 90 and the first round was in October, second round in January, 3rd round in April, and the title in July.

Once you are set up hit start. Simulate next Bout for the first 8 fights. Then click on the menu on the side of the screen, type a name in for the save, click save and you are all set.

If you are using the autoscheduler to schedule other fights, then unclick the "Include in autoscheduler" on each of the fighters in the tourney so they don't fight while involved in the tourney. Run your universe until 3 months later, the go back into the tourney area, hit the menu on the side again and load your tourney.

Hope those instructions are clear enough.

Thank you for your clear instructions. I'll give it a go this week.

My worry was that the tournament calendar and the universe calendar wouldn't mesh, but according to your post, they will. Cool.

Much appreciated!

Could anyone please check the Troubleshooting area. I posted my problem there but i'm afraid not many of us actually go and check out that section of the forum. Thanks
