Briggs was a joke too. I just watched the replay of his first fight over Liakhovich, and he just stands there, straight-legged and throws about 5 punches per round, goes back to his corner and is so out of wind it is just disgusting. Man, his asthma is really terrible. Briggs was in great shape although he looks too muscular and stiff. If he has ashtma, I know that his muscle structure will also take up too much oxygen if he has a big energy output. But he doesnt throw any punches and has no ability to throw sound, biomechanical punches. He throws all arm punches and still has tremendous power. What a waste! If he ever had some flexibility, mobility, conditioning and heart, think of how much money he could have made in the sport!

I was dumbfounded by Guinn's lack of action. What was going through his wee brain? Did he have some fantasy that he was winning? Those two guys make JF Bergeron look like Wladimir Klitschko! Surely those are not examples of the best American heavyweights? And who told the 6' tall Hawkins that 244 lbs. was a good weight for him.
When will Tony Thornton make his move? He is 36 after all. Cap

You mean Tony Thompson. He won his WBO eliminator this past summer against Luan Krasniqui and is currently waiting to face the Wlad/Ibragimov winner. Considering the fact that whoever wins that unification fight will have to face the Povetkin/Chambers winner, Thompson could be waiting for a while.
Boxing politics has basically forced him to be a spectator. |

![]() Hard to believe that, considering the fact he's one of the few decent American heavies around, he'd have a hard time getting a title shot. Besides, there must be an alphabet soup title laying around somewhere. ![]() By the way, hate to point this out, Mikey, but you shoulda put some warning on your post. I hadn't seen the fight yet. Cap
