I like the new avatar IT - I think that's Baby Doll.

I read she just fought MMA because she couldn't get any boxing fights.

She won her first MMA fight, bout, barroom brawl or what ever you want to call it. I pretty much place that in the same waste basket as the WWE.

It is tough for some pro boxers to get bouts but it is more difficult for elite amateurs to get them.

^ LOL, that's true.

Maybe Floyd can claim the same reason as to why he's considering MMA?

Fairly good list - I'd add a few names...and drop a couple.....but on the whole it is pretty good -

I'd also move a WW version Thomas Hearn's up close to the Top 10 -

It seems as if women's boxing, in general, suffers from a general lack of interest; both from the public, and the potential participants. A quick glance at boxrec.com tells the story. Vonda Ward is #1 at heavyweight, among 13 active fighters in that division. At cruiser, there is Carlette Ewell, best among 5 in that category. Light-heavyweight presents a similar picture. And Laila Ali is queen over 9 other ladies at SMW. Tough to make big money fights when stars and recognizable names are so few and far between.

Number of participants is generally better in the lower weight classes, but I can still remember when I was involved with Hollie Dunaway, how that she was world champion over around 56 other girls. Many were of the 0-1 variety, with the "average" being around 3-3. To be perfectly honest, it was my personal involvement with her that helped generate my interest in what the fairer sex had to offer in the pugilistic realm.

Until the public as a whole embraces women's boxing, the money and big match-ups just aren't going to be there like it is for their male counterparts; especially in the United States. Right now, Europe is the mecca of women's boxing, and is likely to remain so, due largely to the fact that the fan base seems to recognize the value of what the ladies bring to the sport. Many of the top names are beautiful AND they can fight. And let's be honest guys, what's sexier than a hot chick than can also kick some A$$?

I can't think of anything right off hand...

I had a female amateur ask me the other day what the #1 thing she needs to do to become a professional. I told her to learn German. That is where the $ is in women's boxing. I chat with a few professional females in this country and they say the same thing....but it is getting better. Elite female professionals have problems finding fights. I think it is due to the fact that only a handful in each weight class have world class ability, or any ability at all, and most are afraid to fight them and each other.

If you look at the amateurs, this won't be a problem for long. Most weight classes with the possible exception of the top two or three with be 20 deep withing five years with 2/3 of them being from outside the USA. I pretty much pay more attention to the female ranks than the male ranks at this point. This has only changed in the past 9 months since I started training female amateurs.

I like athletic women, but female fighters are a real turn-off.

When I tape a fight card, if there's a girl fight on I fast forward through it. I just can't stomach watching two ladies try to knock each other's block off.

Don't get me wrong guys, I like girly girls too. However, my motto is, "don't knock it till ya try it." Not one to kiss and tell, but let's just say that the muscle chicks I've dated have been really awesome! Maybe it's because they THINK like men, and know what makes us happy! LOL!

Alright, back to (male) boxing. How 'bout them Klitschkos?

I'll leave that one alone LOL ... you know I'm just ribbing you right?

About the Klitchko's obviously this list left out current fighters because if you are going to take % of fights that resulted in KO wins ... it'd be tough to leave them out.
