Showtime Boxing 1/5
Finally sat down and watched the Malinaggi - Ngoudjo fight. I was surprised to hear that Malinaggi was a 6 to 1 favorite. I thought this would be a tough fight for him and it was.
I thought the 115-113 score was about right. Ngoudjo was just as fast as him. I still say ... Hatton vs. Malinaggi in the Garden is a huge fight. |

Malignaggi is not really that good. His days as champion are numbered. Witter, Hatton, and Torres would win a fairly wide UD against him.
Ngoudjo will be a future world champ. Mark my words. He's getting better with each fight and has already pushed three current/former world champs to the limit. |

I think Malignaggi loses to all three of those guys by late KO.
Ngoudjo is a good fighter. I was at the Castillo fight and everyone there thought he took it from him. I never saw the HBO Broadcast but I bet they were all thinking that as well. Ngoudjo should have worked a little more against Paulie though and maybe he could have got a split decision. One of those judges was really off with his 117-110 card. |

I actually think Malinaggi could take Hatton. Torres would probably KO him if he caught him. I haven't seen Witter enough to have an opinion.
I've almost become convinced that Hatton was a product of home town favortism. IMO he could very easily be 1-3 here on American soil. Of course I should have prefaced all that by saying I really like Malinaggi. |

I can't see Malignaggi beating the top level JWW's (Witter, Hatton, Torres) but he's definitely on level playing field with D. Hopkins, Holt, Urango, ect.
I just thought he was jumping the gun after the fight by demanding big paydays. He beat a shot Lovemore N'Dou and had a so-so performance against Ngoudjo. None of the top JWW's will be knocking down his door anytime soon. |

I thought Hatton/Urango was a lot closer than the scorecards as well. Urango was hurting Hatton to the body and if he kept that up the whole fight, he could have pulled off the upset.
Hatton did benefit from a lot of hometown favortism. He got away with holding and being dirty on the inside but his opponent would get admonished for trying to fight fair. Guess there's a benefit when the ref is your uncle ![]() |

I've only seen Malinaggi fight once - on HBO, I think - and I was not impressed. I don't think he'll have much of a chance against Hatton.
