Purchased TBCB 2.5 today and have spent the last few hours exploring all the great new changes. Congratulations to all the guys who helped out with the beta testing, and especially to Andreas, you've made a great game even better.
And thanks to mh2365 for his tips on "preparing your universe for 2.5". Very useful. Now back to the new and improved PUB. |

I'm sorry! I would really like to offer you a discount, but that's not possible due to several reasons. It would be difficult to get a proof of purchase - you would have to send us the CD. The CD has not been sold by us and it's a completely different calculation and so on. How much did you pay for the CD? But let's discuss it here. Send me a PM if you're interested in a deal which would include sending us the CD to our German office.

I'm just thinking to myself how much we all enjoy this game. And thankfully with version 2.5 here we can finally enjoy it for all its worth. I, for one, am very pleased.

Awesome - Thanks Guys For Great Update
I have not done much except to explore and check out ratings and everything else. This version will help those with larger databases, myself included. I have set up several different universes and one I have been using with my brother as a competition type game with over 23,000+ fighters. Some are new fighters with no ratings yet. But it is great you can do mass changes.
Once again thanks to everyone involved and I can expect to spend a many hours getting involved in the greatest boxing game I have ever found. Thanks to all in the forum for all input, questions, and answers. |

I'm stunned at the random fighter generator. I punched in 2000 as the number and thought "it'll probably take a few minutes", hit the button, went to get up, and in the time it took me to put my hand down to push myself up, it was done
That's pretty amazing.I also like the way it now sensibly chooses fighters based on their birthdate etc... Will make a universe much easier. I had a chart I made of dice rolls for stuff after fights (injuries, deaths etc...) but I can't find it now ![]() First, and so far only fight I've done, was Jack Dempsey vs Ali. Dempsey absolutely owned Ali, and knocked him down in the tenth round (he made it up at 5). Round 7 Dempsey's left eye was badly swollen. By round 9, BOTH Ali's were swollen too. It went to the scorecards, and the it was a completely one sided UD for Dempsey. Two comments: 1) The commentary kept saying the round was going to Ali, when the "ringside expert" was saying Dempsey. In fact the commentary was behind Ali the entire fight. 2) I notice there's voice sounds in the sound directory saying about the round ending etc... Are they unused, as I didn't hear them? Also where would I find the sound for the bell? As it's a little loud and I want turn it down a bit. |

Haven't we all watched a fight from time to time when the announcer seems to be only seeing the punches landed by the fighter they favour. Jim Lampley comes to mind.
Anyway sometime this week I will purchase the game myself, as I am on holidays for a couple of weeks, and will enjoy it as much as I ever did, and more. Greg

While I like the idea of regional champs I decided to make a twist on it. Instead of the regionals I opted for the IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO to have sperate fighters compete for that particular title. Ex Ali would be in IBF, Tyson in WBA, Dempsey in WBC and Foreman in WBO. Used the new datatbase updated the pool and then just randomly secleted fighters to each division. In addition I left all of the fighters in the men division for a "unification" class. I wasn't done there then one thing I was doing with my 2.0 game was using fighters generated form an excel/open office program I created (this is where most of you remember me) now that the RFG is in place no need for it anymore. Anyway once I generated them I put them in a seperate class to get experience and move up in skills (maybe more on that in a minute) and seeing how the Contender TV show is a hit I decided to make it the contender class. With the "champion" getting a title shot with someone. Version 2.5 makes it so much easier to do this now. That was the first thing after the fight I did was look at the RFG program. I opted for beginner and saw some unusual results which got me thinking...what if I put EVERYONE as beginner what would happen??????? I went with the heavyweights and was very VERY impressed with the results turns out the dominant fighters were in the middle of the pack of the ratings while the not so dominate but still pretty good fighters were going undefeated and the low end fighters actually won more than their fair share of fights early on. So now my virus infection was kickin in but my brain was still working why not instead of having all of your fighters fighting for one or two titles, split them in equal parts have them stay there while figguering out a way for the title holders to fight each other for a "unified title". The WBA (I think) has a stipluation to where if their title holder wins a "unified" fight then the WBA strips them of their title so now I'm really thinking (and coughing) set it up on the four classes let them fight it out a few times (at least 10) get ratings in line and decide titles THEN when the fighters hit PRIME and their real settings are revealed that is when the fun will begin. So at this point I got that idea (and working on seperating the fighters in each setting ok call it politics I guss) now combine that with the RFG and contender so the new fighters won't be intially mixed in with the real fighters once they get the experience then mix them in as their ratings change. The real fighters with horrible ratings once they reach prime will drop to the contender/tomato can training grounds to give a new(er) batch of fighters generated the experience to keep the game going. I was working on this in 2.0 when 2.5 plans were revealed and 2.5 makes a lot of what I did much easier 500 fighters ready to go in about 5 seconds when it would of taken me weeks to type in that stuff before. It will take me a few more days to evenly split up the fighters into each division but I think setting everyone to beginner will level the playing field a bit so this idea leaves me just a few questions. 1 When I bring in a new crop of fighters, should I unlink all the current fighters then add or is adding them outright ok? 2. once I do this is there a way I can copy this file from one computer to the other? 3 Is there a quicker way to split them up? Right now I am just highlighting and scrolling down. 4 I have found a few fighters that once I click on their name it asks for a pic. Aside from looking for the pic is there a way to bypass this the pop up is annoying but could it cause problems later? 5. Any further ideas? ![]() |

Is there a quick and easy way to get pictures in for fictional fighters?
Really wish we had a decent manual right now as I quite often sit staring at the screen going "Huh?!" Last night I was trying to figure out the autoscheduler and it just wouldn't generate fights and I couldn't figure out why. (It was ultimately because I created 2000 LHW's and was trying to book fights with the HW division. Would explain the absence of boxers )Game needs tooltips on a lot of stuff IMO. Like the correct format for entering the date. One box that asks for it gives no indication as to the format. I tried multiple formats and all failed. Still loving the game though ![]() |

The rest: Excellent ideas and ones I support. I know a guy who knows a guy whose neighbor's cousin knows a guy who can relay this to Andreas . . . I'll go to work on it
