Oh lovely. I never tried that combo. (I was doing 27-01-1950, 01-27-1950, 1-27, 27-1 etc...) This is a good example of why bits of the game need tooltips I think, as that's pretty counterintuitive.

Has anyone moved their existing universes over to the new program and if so...any positive or negative issues that need to be pointed out?
looking forward to getting it

For those of you that can't locate the email that had your code...it's shown on the bottom of the title screen after all the data load in. It says "licensed to", then has the VT code. Hope this heps.

Sorry for reposting if someone mentioned this ready.

handles existing universes quite well and the program will ask you if you want to change any fighters that are not rated as prime can swtich it for you if you want. Get it its a really good program.

With fictional fighter pictures, I was hoping, like OOTP in days of yore, you could have numbered images and it'd pick them up. Frustrating as I'd like pictures for fictional guys, but pulling together a couple of thousand pictures would be hard. And sadly we don't warrant Facegen in TB. GRR!

I've opened up TB2.5 and imported my TB2 universe. Everything looks great so far. Ran into a few puzzlers, but found answers here. We need an FAQ though to put the solutions in one easy to find thread.

Well, so far so good.
Installed the new version, imported my Empire Db and then updated from the online data base. Everything looks fine and nothing was erased or overwritten, I just need to copy my old schedules into the new version (they didn't come over when I imported the DB). I only found one fighter so far that was duplicated after the online update, rather than having a new set of ratings added like the rest but that's no problem.

I like it, looking forward to diving in over the next few days.

This game desperatly needs a career mod. One where you are a promotr who books cards. The sim engine is so great, it's begging for it.

Totally agree. Right now it's a framework you can use to create your own game. It really works well and it is very flexible. I highly recommend the game as it stands today. My understanding is the next version will actually be a full fledged sports management game somewhat like OOTP and Football Manager.

I absolutely can't wait. In the meantime, what is being sold is top notch and a ton of fun. Andreas did a great job with the interface and many improvements in the tools around creating your own game world.

You can already scheduled fights at any time between any fighters regardless of history, race, past performance and even time and gender . . what more promotional opportunities could you want?

It does need it to take a step forward with consumer sales ... but at this point IMO a RPG version of this game will be a step back from what we have now (although what we have now will still be an option).

Sure there is a little work still required to run a universe now but what you won't have is the repetitiveness of a RPG .... with the RPG just like OOTP somewhat it is the same thing day in and day out. I enjoy games like OOTP but quite frankly I play them for a month or two and then I'm bored with it.

TBCB has never bored me, mainly because I can do whatever the heck I want with it. Most text sim games fall into 1 of 2 categories .... replay or career. IMO TBCB is an entirely different animal.

I agree with Mike. The RPG will attract more of the fringe or even casual boxing fans that look at it now and say they want more. I cannot see myself getting into the RPG because i enjoy the level of control i have over everything. I love OOTP but for solo play tend to burn out after a couple of weeks of play.

I'm in the same camp with you guys. Title Bout could use a couple of tweaks and maybe a little polish here and there, but right now it is one of the most replayable games on the market.

I think most hard line dedicated boxing fans could revert back to the type of game we have in our hands now after playing a Role Play boxing game for a couple of months. It will attract a lot of casual fans i feel which of course is a good thing. But i fear this is going to be the problem in a Role Play game.

Its getting the balance right. To easy for you to win title's and you wont get any satisfaction or feel you have achieved anything in the game and will soon tire of it.

Very hard and the casual boxing fan will again get fed up and bored with it. Where as i believe it could be a hit with us or at the very least with me strangely enough. As to me it will feel more like the real fight game where even winning a trophy at a small local event will thrill.

A big mistake i fear would be to stop making this game as its getting better and better with every release and already has a solid fan base of die hard boxing fanatics and just in the future concentrate on the Role Play game.

Andreas will not stop improving the open mode unless I'm dead ... of course being fat and forty that could be tomorrow

LOL!

I really hope future versions will have a booking mode. I like being the promoter. Something like the World of MMA game, only a lot less crap.
