If you control everything you can hardly fail can you? I like my fighter, no title shot for you Burley. Look, would you want to be the in charge of a baseball team and just decide who makes the playoffs with a click? Where exactly in the challenge in that? Right now, people handicap themselves and use this outstanding sim to just run fights and make a universe in what's known in most game as sandbox mode. That means unstructured, no competition for the player. Do what you want. I don't think it's unreasonable to want an actual game framework. Now I wouldn't suggest ditching sandbox mode, it's flexible as hell and some people love it. I'm just surprised computer gamers would EVER lobby for a game with only sandbox mode. I never would have purchased Railroad Tycoon or Civilization with only sandbox mode. |

I just noticed the new game has been released...just installed my license
![]() As far as sandbox vs RPG....I definately would want both (even if there two different products). God mode is very addictive, and for me never gets old. An RPG version would also be fun as well. Ever since I used to play ABC Wide World of Sports Boxing on my Amiga 500 in the 80's I've been looking for a career based boxing game where I focus on one fighter and try and build my stable into something special. To me its not a either or proposition. I want the current game and a career/rpg mode however that comes about.

But your post is something different and gave me the feeling you were making a lot of incorrect presumptions about what I felt the game can be.

Very possible, I do jump to conclusions all the time (sorry!). Really, the roles one could take in a boxing game are many...so Andreas has a ton of room for expansion...I guess that does highlight the need for a sandbox mode since it allows the player to choose any of them right now. |

Just installed version 2.5 and I'm a bit confused. In the earlier version you were able to simply select a couple of fighters from the database and stage a bout without having to create a universe. With the new version, must you now create a universe first just to get the game started?

All you have to do is hit a button, check all the weight classes and click another button and you have a universe set up with all the fighters in the database ... Takes a total of about 3 minutes to set up and then you don't ever have to do it again.
