Looking forward to seeing No Country for Old Men.
That is too bad, Eastern Promises turned out to be a great movie.....

I felt the same way, but I cracked open one more beer and I'm glad I did.

I know I have been told. I might give it another try at some point.

I watched "The Prizefighter and The Lady" the other night. I believe it is the first black and white movie I ever made it all the way through. It really wasn't a great movie but seeing some of the fighters like Billy Papke and Jess Willard it made the movie worth it. I thought Max Baer did fairly well as the lead man.

The Prizefighter and the Lady (1933)

I haven't read the book either and I now want to see the movie even more. My wife was gonna watch it with me until she saw zombies in the previews, she won't watch movies like that. I'm gonna rent it anyway.

Not really zombies .... it was a very good movie. Like someone on IMDB said though it should have just been called watching Will Smith and his dog.

I just watched "Legend" as well, thought it was pretty good.

As far as zombie movies, you can't beat the newer Night of the Living Dead.

2004, with Ving Rhames. 1990 was the "new" Night of the Living Dead, which was OK.

Never saw Shaun of the Dead...I take it was a good one? Along the same lines as Evil Dead maybe? Another to add to my "to be watched" list.
Been watching a lot of those "After Dark Horrorfest" titles lately, which are hit or miss, some are really good and others just bad.

Evil Dead 2 > Evil Dead

Shaun of the Dead isn't exactly a parody although there are parodic elements in it. It's more of a "zom rom com", which is I think what the creator called it. It's got zombies, it's got romance, and it's got comedy. What more could you ask for? BTW, the same guys also made Blue Fuzz, which is also highly worth watching, particularly if you are a fan of Point Break.

There was a premier here when that came out, and you could get in free if you came as a zombie. My son, wife and I did just that. My wife, being an art teacher and a free spirit, had great makeup and we definitely made for a trio of convincing zombies. Turned a few heads on the sidewalk on the way there. If I can find some pics of that event, I'll scan and post.

Great movie - funny as hell.

No Country for Old Men was definitely the best movie I saw last year. You will like it.

Michael Clayton was also exceptional.

Surprisingly, The Bourne Ultimatum sticks out as a notable as well. I really enjoyed the heck out of that one.

And at the risk of surrendering my Man Card, a big thumbs up to the movie Once, staring the singer from the Frames. Really charming.

Gonna buy No Country ... hey no need to surrender your man card. I watched "Enchanted" the other night and liked it. "Once" looks good and has great reviews on IMDB ... I will put that on my list.

While we are surrendering Man cards, we watched "feast of love" last night and I have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit. Well paced for it's genre and at times both sentimental and dark, good flick.

Okay, any CD cover upon which two people are smooching and the girl has one foot in the air is DEFINITELY a chick flick...

Oh, and I might add, it is directed by Robby Benton - that guy that was in Ice Castles.

So you are definitely on the questionable list my friend.

In my defense there was a hot lesbian scene
