Edit Rating Record box

I have a fighter who is retired in my Retirees group. His career stage is presently showing Post-Prime as he was when I imported him from TB2. I clicked on the Career Stage window and a box popped up called "Edit Rating Record". What do the different categories mean precisely and when would you want to use this device?

Things you can edit in there:

Division
Career stage
Valid dates - used for when you want a given rating record to be put in use. Should have more utility in the role play game
Title - change the title of the rating record to anything you like that makes sense in the way you organize such things.
Source - shows where the rating record came from i.e. DB Team, auto-generated, et cetera. If you have made your own file you can put your name in there or just leave it blank. It and the Title are nothing more than file tabs to tell you what the rating record is and where it came from they can be blank or filled with random numbers, they do not effect anything.

...and if you should happen to change the career stage in this Edit Rating Record box from, say, Post-Prime to Prime what will happen? Will the Post-Prime ratings become the Prime ratings? Just curious about the designer's original intentions for this box.
