Lorenzo vs Pavlik?
Fightnews is reporting that undefeated Giovanni Lorenzo has been named #1 contender by the WBC for Pavliks' middleweight crown. June 7th has been suggested as a possible date. Should the fight occur, I'll take Kelly via TKO 8.
Any thoughts?

It will be a better fight than Duddy would have been. Lorenzo is tough but has been very protected. Also if he doesn't fight until June he will be coming off his longest layoff. Pavlik by late TKO

Lorenzo and Duddy have faced no one of note. Granted both guys would give the fans their moneys worth but neither would last half the fight against Pavlik.
Guess this is another thing we don't agree on huh Mike? ![]() |

Lorenzo is considerably faster than Duddy ... just as much power .. doesn't get hit in the face as much and doesn't bleed either. Not sure how they are equals.
I agree neither had fought anyone and both lose to Pavlik but I think Lorenzo will make a fight of it while Duddy could die. yeah my whole world is upside down ... been agreeing with Meade as long as we stay off HW's and disagreeing with you .... |

Duddy is a tough guy. That beating he took in the first round on Saturday was pretty ugly but he managed to rally and eek out a MD. He might die in the ring....but he's going out on his shield. Sadly, I think Duddy might be out of the sport in two years. Fighters that take punishment like that usually don't last long. I'd love to see Lorenzo vs. Duddy. Two undefeated fighters with exciting styles. Would be a big draw in NYC. Maybe have it on the St. Patty's Day PPV. Would definitely buy it in a heartbeat if that fight was made.
