PTI's Wilbon is an idiot!
Saw Micheal on ESPN & he was talking about Holyfield & then he said boxing is done. WTH is he talking about? I hate these sports writers who might know about a few sports but think they know enough & can speak like an expert on all sports.

Holyfield makes the news because he is an absolute joke now. Of course he is a black eye for boxing. He made millions and millions of $$$ and is broke now because he couldn't keep it in his pants. He has what 57 kids by 45 different women?
He is to boxing what Shawn Kemp is to basketball. Nice legacy there Vander .... |

Right, if boxing had to rely on the HW division alone, that would be bad but boxing fans know there are great fights/fighters in the lower weights. Sure, it would be better for boxing if the HW division was strong but the whole sport isn't dead.

I remember about ten years ago the "Fabulous Sports Babe" interviewed Evander and he blamed the women for not using protection. He had these kids on the side while married to some sort of a doctor.

Yeah he is a real gem ... steriods, children from multiple women, not paying his child support. But hey he's a warrior (translation: he got punched in the face a lot). Too bad he didn't take a bunch of low blows early in his career.

I'm not sure if he did roids but he was a dirty fighter. He was the best at using his head and elbows in the last 20 years.

Yeah, just like 99 percent of the televangelists out there. I dont think that nothing irks me more than a hypocrite. While I admire Holyfield as a fighter,he used to rip into people for their "sinful" ways and such all the while..well,ya know. Anyway,he was a tough fighter for sure but the steroid issues is something that is a definite possibility. Man,watching his fights as a youth and comparing them to his heavyweight days..whew. Of course,we all get that spread that comes with age but he packed on some serious muscle. The idiot sportswriters have been saying that boxing is dead for 25 years or more now. Boxing will be around when all the other fads are gone. I like UFC and such, but to me boxing is the king of all fighting sports..always has..always will. Yeah, the heavyweights are down for sure right now. However,we are long overdue for a heavyweight star and you never know who will come along and capture the imagination of the public. The guys we have calling themselves champion at the heavyweight division are all seriously flawed..from weak chin,no defense to just mediocre talent. Boxing still has a lot of good young fighters, especially from 140-168 pounds. Tons of guys with talent and potential and several young prospects that look good as well. Yeah,I think boxing is struggling and the relative new kid on the block(MMA)is getting the attention, however,it all goes in cycles. I think Boxing will be around when all of us are gone. Take care fellas.
