Hi everyone. I'm brand new to the forums even though I've been reading them for quite a while. Just purchased the game and love all of the features it brings to the counter. I own an original copy of the bookshelf game from 1981 and I think the computer game is a vast improvement and everything seems to be working fine.
I do have one question though. Sandy Saddler drummed Willie Pep in 3 out of 4 matches and Pep barely out-pointed him in the loss yet Pep is rated higher than Saddler. I'm a little confused at this rating. May I ask what your reasoning was for this?..... ![]() Thanks for looking!..... ![]() Ciao, John |

First and foremost John welcome to the forum.
Take a football team John, one team can beat nearly everyone but for some reason they always have a problem against a certain other team perhaps who is much lower in there division. Same thing can happen with fighters. Saddler's style always seemed to give Pep problems Mind you Saddler was a great fighter in his own right and definitely an all time great. So don't underestimate Saddler. Thanks for the complement about the game. There are a few small problems in it but eventually our programmer Andreas together with the beta team will hopefully sort it out with the next patch. Stick around John were only a small bunch of guys here who have this passion for the fight game so we need all the support we can get to make sure that our beloved game has a future in simulation gaming. |

The ratings are based on their overall career ... not fight by fight.
Also I believe those two ratings are from Jim Trunzo's orginal ratings so for further explanation we'd have to ask him and that would be hard to do. For a modern day example take Juan Manual Marquez ... if we rated him for his fight against John he would never be able to hang with Berrera and Morales. Enjoy the game and the community Dragonwolf. Great bunch of guys on here. As the others stated,we are a small group but a very loyal faction. I think most of the guys who post regular were involved with the newer version(I just recently found time to start posting again and missed out)and I think they did a superb job. You can bet that the game will be tweaked and only get better. Again, welcome to the club bro!

Hey guys!
Thanks for the welcomes and I'm sure I'll stick around for a long time to come. But I do have a few more questions. (I can hear the moaning already) ![]() In the original game, Pep had CFs of 11/11 while Saddler's were 11/10 giving a revised CF of 10 for both. In TBCB 2.5.25 Pep is 15/15 while Saddler is 12/12. Does the computer automatically revise the ratings or would the CFs stay at 15 to 12 throughout the bout? How large is Cubedrum's photo pack? I've tried downloading it and had to stop after it hit 55 mb. If you revise ratings in a created universe are you also revising the original ratings in the game? I'll post any more questions in the appropriate threads from now on. I appreciate your answers and look forward to them. Thanks a bunch! Ciao, John |

Welcome to the board John. I am glad you purchased this game and have decided to join our little community. I look forward to seeing what you can bring to this game and these boards in the future. Just remember that this is like a family, sometimes we get into little arguements but we always find a way to work it out. So if someone, not naming names (Mike
), gets at you for something you post just get right back.I hope you know I'm kidding Mike. Or am I in for the hammer? ![]()

I thought I'd edit your post just to be funny but then decided not to use my super powers on someone from TN LOL.
Geez I get into it with one new guy, run him off the board and I'm branded for life ![]() At least this guy didn't start with "Pavlik didn't throw 1000 jabs in the first fight I ran with the demo, this game sucks .... please come look at my game that I am making where Pavlik throws and connects 175 jabs a round" Last edited by mh2365 : 06-20-2008 at 04:55 PM. |

( Anyway i don't think you would hit an old man who wears speck's but a pint of beer from you would go down very nicely ) Cheers Mike -- keep punching ![]() |
