Showtime trying to get CBS to show fights?

ESPN - Is CBS-Showtime synergy around the corner for boxing? - Boxing

That would be nice ... the promoters would be able to develop young fighters on CBS and graduate them to showtime ... but like the article says Showtime needs CBS on this, CBS doesn't need Showtime.

Yeah, that would be great. Then they'd have their own farm system, so to speak.

Maybe boxing did learn something from MMA/UFC/Spike after all?

During the summer months, there's nothing on CBS on Sat. or Sunday anyway - day or night. When the NFL is back, CBS could show fights on the Sundays when they only have one game (either @ 1 or 4) & when Fox has both 1 & 4pm games.

Ahhh, those were the days of my youth with Tim Ryan & Gil Clancy doing fights on the CBS Sports Spectacular, and even if it were fighters on the verge of titles just as ESPN used to have with Top Rank Boxing.

This is something I would clearly welcome.

True! It does seem they don't want many titles in any sports to be on during the day now. Recall when they had some World Series games on during daylight?

Right Greg, I enjoyed those 2 guys as well!
