The Big Change Over to 2.5

ok i have had 2.5 for a while and i am finally about to transfer my uni from 2 - 2.5. i obviosly transfer the data and the images files is there anything else i need to copy over ????????????

i have just been reading the thread on patch update , is the game not worth transfering yet ? there are lot of people that seem unhappy? i have the game as it first came out with no patch , is there one?

alot of questions about a topic you all prob dealt with along time back , but i would be grateful of some feedback/help

well, i dindt have any problems, maybe you want to keep your 2.0 version as a backup, if you have any problem

im very happy with 2.5

I started a brand-new universe in 2.5 and have been very happy.

It's better than 2.0. The Random Fighter Generator alone is worth the switch.

I didn't transfer over anything from 2.0, but I'd agree with javier's excellent suggestion to back up your 2.0 files, just in case.

Overall, I think that you'd find the vast majority of people satisfied with 2.5. Looking at the big picture, it's really the need to correct the AI stategy dimension that has caused some of us to complain. The degree that this impacts on you is really related to your style of play. For some it is a major situation but for others it's a nonissue.

The rest of the comments (mine included) are proposed improvements, particularly in the graphic area, that aren't so much a condemnation of the game but rather a wishlist and the reality of it happening.

Bottom line: buying 2.5 is money very well spent!

Make sure you have the most recent version 2.5.25

There are some issues involving titles being transfered that that has been noted as a problem. I can't explain it myself, because it has no effect in my own uni but it has been a complaint.

Computor assigned strategies is another major point of concern. Some of the RFG ratings have raised an eyebrow or two. These are the three that could possibly have some effect on you.

There are nearly a score of other things the Beta team would like to see addressed in the next patch but I don't think any of them will effect what you want to do overly much. They involve some of the problems encoutered here in the forums and the troubleshooting threads

Version can be found on the opening screen. In this cap I'm using the patch beta test version

Group retirements is a snap with the mass edit feature. Puts an end to a lot of that old drudgery. You can select as many fighters as you want. I only selected one here.

i swapped over took all my images over but on some pis i get this message

Given the issues of Vista compatibility the file where the fighter pics now reside has a structure that looks like this

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Out of the Park Developments\Title Bout Championship Boxing 2.5\Images\Fighters

AZZA's file structure appears to correspond to this so I'm stumped about this problem. Azza, I'd suggest a PM to Andreas.

I still find the new 2.5 interface, if that's what it's called, a wee bit awkward when it comes to the multiple career stages. I hope this setup is optional in the RPG version. Seems to me you want the mechanics to be simple and really new-user friendly. Remember this is a game not a boring business application. Let gamers get right into the action.

Azza, are any of the images bmp. files?
2.5 no longer handles those files. If you have any they'd have to be converted to jpgs.
