Windows 7

Anybody try running on Windows 7 yet? I just bought a new confuser and it has Vista, and I have a free upgrde to 7. If TB is having probelms I will pass on the upgrade.

I have also just purchased a new laptop with vista and a free upgrade. I was also wondering if there is any expected or known problems.

I didn't end up buying the laptop with the window7 upgrade, I bought one with window7 installed and can't get TB 2.5 to work. I will keep trying, but if anyone has any idea's feel free to chime in. I usally buy new stuff after everyone else has figured out all the problems...darn!

Ok I thought you could have 2.5 on two computers at the same time. I did not un-eLicense. So I went back to my old laptop to the elicense Control folder in control panel and the folder wont open. Any idea's?

I installed the game and it will not start, I click on the shortcut and nothing happens. As I remember you install the game and then when you first start it you are asked for your eLicense. I am wondering if this is because of a windows7 issue.
I'm pretty much stuck at this point. I finally did get the eLicense off the old laptop but I thought you could have it on two computers, was I wrong about this. So anyway...HELP!

Windows 7

My guess is that the software license doesn't recognize Windows 7.

Heres a shot in the dark. Open the game as administrator, and in properties in compatability mode check off XP or Windows 95.

Yeah mine says the same as the one you posted Windows XP(Service Pack3).
Is there something that can be done if this is the problem. Ok mine says Pack 3
and yours says pack2.

Here are the options. But, I'm guessing Andreas has to tweak the software to accept Windows 7 like he did when Vista came out!

I tried windows 98 and it tried to load and then popped up a message box saying: "Sorry could not get license at this time. Please try running this program later 23 0". I tried several times, no luck.

I believe that Andreas has to tweak the software to coordinate the license to Windows 7 like he did for Vista.

Copy your universe to the game in your new computer (documents OOTP) and it should work. Then open the game in your old universe.

Works In Windows 7

I have the game running in Windows 7 with no problems. All you need to do is;

Tick the box for compatibilty mode XP sp2.
Tick the box for running as Administrator.
Hit the button for show settings for all users and tick the same boxes there.
Apply and ok everything.
Now run the game. You may still get nothing happening or the game may start with weird error messages, just ignore them. Play a quick match up etc. exit the game as normal.
Run the game again and you will still get the error message but the game does work (Can't remember what the messages say, just ignore them).
exit the game and now go back and untick the compatiblity mode boxes and run as administrator etc including the all users page.
Now run the program again and all works as it should.
Hope this makes sense.

Hi Jofre

Windows 7 is fine. No problems at all, though I never had any issues with Vista either.
For an out of the box experience Windows 7 requires very little attention.
Oh by the way I'm running the 64bit version. So TB runs fine in that.
