ratings

In the rating section of a fighter, can you change just the overall number, or do you need to change the sub catgories first. I have some fighters that have low overall but are ranked high according to boxrec, I want it to refelect that.

The overall rating is based on the different categories. So you would have to change those to get a different overall rating.

What I was afraid of, thank you.

The overall is the biggest determination of wining, right?

Overall Rating is basically just there to give people a simple number to tell them how good the boxer is without having to look at the fighter's entire rating record. It doesn't affect the outcome of fights (at least, I'm pretty sure it doesn't.).

I think the higher rated fighter will win a majority of the time but in one single fight, almost anything can happen.

Personally, I never put a lot of stock in the overall rating. There's so many ways to get to a particular number--control, punches landed, power, defense, etc. I take them as a rough indicator of overall ability but see them far from all-determining.

I've been playing variations of this Trunzo-template game for close to thirty-five years, and I'm never surprised when a 7 ranked fighter beats out a 9. It's rather common when the lower ranked boxer has a strong punch and the higher rated is cursed with a weak chin.

For example I has created new fighter and save his rating. I have fighter of overall rating 6, then i save his rating at second time or few times, but not change his personal ratings more (not + not- ) his overall rating come 7 or 8. For example fighter with 6 = 5 or 7 often (It can be 1=2, 2=1 or=3, 3=2 or 4 etc).
Overall Rating is just real a (-1+) always.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what's going on here. If you don't go in and make a change then save your universe, the rating should be the same next time you open TBCB. Quite frankly, I've played just about all of the computer variations of this game since the APBA days and never experienced it.

If I understand what your problem is, let me suggest this. Print or write out all of the ratings (CF, HP, End--everything) before you leave the game. Then if there's a change next time you could pin down what's different.

There's only one other thing I can think of the might be the cause of this situation. Since this is a fighter you've created, it might have to do with the global id number that you've assigned, although I doubt that's the reason.

Quite frankly, I'm stumped! But you're in luck, we've got some real experts in the forum who'll be able to size this right up.

Come on, guys---give our new member a hand here!

Are you perhaps running fights, with autoaging? If the aging process changes a fighter's career stage, that will alter his ratings without your editing them directly.

Thanx a lot,PROFESSORDP friend!! I'm not new member here. All know me here so long. Simply i lost my old e-meil and password.
About overall rating:
For example i have boxer Floyd Mayweather jr. his Ov.Rating in my uni 12 - i have change his ENDURANCE from his 9 to 8 or 10 - SAVE changes - turn back on 9 - SAVE changes etc. -- his Ov.Rating 13!!!! (was 12) I always has change ENDURANCE and turn back ENDURANCE on real - and Overal Rating always (+1 or -1) ---- And I have my decision what it will be to some fighter!! I play - all fighters in prime without aging process!

I thought about the auto-aging as did David, but since that's not a factor from what you say, are you certain that you've not changed any other ratings along the way?

Yeah - I save changes without change any other ratings - i only changed ENDURANCE and save and turn it back, save. You can try your experiment with it on another one fighter

I've tested a little and found something that may possibly be causing this. In the lower right hand corner of the ratings tab screen is a button labeled ""Calculate," right next to "Overall Rating," which I had thought this no longer had a function.

What I find is that if you change other particular ratings (CF, HP, PL, Def, etc.), the Overall Rating changes also when you hit save, without your having to press the Calculate button, as was necessary in earlier versions of the game. But if you change the endurance and hit save, the new endurance value will be saved but the Overall Rating will not change. If you then hit Calculate, you'll get a different Overall Rating. If somebody were to change Endurance, save and hit the Calculate button without thinking about it, then change the Endurance back to its original value but not hit Calculate, then you'll the Endurance level and all the other values will be what they always were, but the Overall Rating will remain changed.
