newbie questions.

Hi. I was wondering about some things,

1.) Is it possible to get real fighters in the demo?
2.) Do you just go about setting up fights all the time, ie does the computer not set up any fights, we set them all up?
3.) Where can I download the latest update for real fighters
4) Is there any pic packs for the fighters in the game and if so where can I get this?
5.) Is there any way to hype fights?

Thank you very much for any advise on these questions

1. I am not sure about real fighters in the demo, but I thought there were at least some.
2. You set up the fights, there is a scheduler but you have to set up who you want to fight. I use it to get each fighters first 10 to 15 career fights out of the way quick.
3. When you load the game for the first time I am pretty sure it will ask you if you want to download the latest fighters pack.
4. Yes, if you do a search on the site you should be able to find them. I think a site called Cubedrums have them there.
5. I guess thats up to you...

No. It's not a boxing management simulation. It's a simulation that focuses on the fight itself.

Concerning question #1, you have to create a universe and then import boxers from the pool. There's no media element to hype fights, but you should look at the "Inside the Ropes" thread and see how the forum members run their universes. You could post press conferences or new articles, and add your graphics. The only limitation would be your imagination in the end.

Your first step is to visit the link below and download the game manual--Unfornately, it's for the 2.0 version so there are a few things that aren't explaing that are present in the current version. Still, it will provide you with most of which you need to understand and enjoy the game. There's also additonal photo packs and ratings of fighters not included in the game pool. You should visit the "Mods" section of this forum. There's also plenty of pictures and rating there as well.

Here's the link for "Cornerwork".

Thanks for your helpful replies so far!
I've decided i'm going to purchase the game tonight!
Just one quick question before I do;
How many real world fighters are in the game as a whole and are they up to date to the present day?
Also can I create a universe with just the real fighters and no fictional ones?
Sorry if these sound like obvious questions, i'm completely new to the game and so don't know much about it except playing the demo of 2.5 for abit.

There are updates to the fighters in the game, and new ones added all the time. As far as how many fighters are in the game I have over 1200 heavyweights alone. Thats including active and retired boxers. You can have a universe with active, retired, fictional or any combination there of.

The game does not come with fictional fighters, but you can easily make them yourself. I beleive there are some available that others have made as well.

In the mods subforum I created a number of fictional fighter based on films, novels, and TV show characters that were fighters. The thread is called Bear's 4Fs. A number of other threads have fighter files that are not in the "official" database.
