Pacquiao Cotto Spoiler

Hopefully Pacman gets his due. Completely dominated Cotto like he was his Daddy.I guarantee Pretty Boy will do everything to not make this fight happen. If Pac wants more of the purse he deserves it.

Cotto looked so strong and sharp in the 1st round. Once Pacquiao started fighting, he took him apart. I'm glad Cotto wasn't knocked cold or badly hurt. He could have had both happen to him tonight.

Pacquiao looked great.

Cotto should retire....too damaged at this point to win a real fight. Pac-man had his way with him after the first round. There was a spot in the 4th when I thought Cotto and him hurt, but got dropped about 5 seconds later.

All of that said, I favor Mayweather Jr. over Pac-man.

This is dejavu, I thought I responded in this thread yesterday. Anywho

The only surprise for me was that Cotto lasted that long. Manny completely toyed with him after 3 and a half rds. I don't want to hear anymore catch weight BS from Pac and his camp. It didn't change this fight, but he didn't need it.

He is on the cusp of historic greatness. Guys like Hank, Duran & Hearns didn't need catch weights, neither does Manny.

As a Cotto fan, I agree he should retire. He can still beat most, but he has no desire to face cream puffs and the truly elite fighters will deliver terrible beatings to him.

The server crashed, wiping out all the posts from the last couple of days. See Andreas' thread up top in General Discussions.

I'm curious what you guys thought about the weight issue in that fight. In one of the other forums I frequent there were some pretty strong opinions that Cotto having to make 145 would weaken him, giving Pacquiao an unfair advantage.

Just curious what your thoughts are on that.

I see PBF suddenly interested in fighting Shane, that fact that the public wants to see him fight Pacquiao will just leave Floyd to come up with more lame excuses not to (like the one he used about Pacquiao getting stopped some 10+ years ago). I'd favor Floyd, but just don't see him making the fight.

Cotto was fighting at 140 up until the end of 2006. Since then, he's fought 8 times (not including Sat. night) and has weighed in under the 147 limit 5 of those 8 times. A few times weighing 146.5, a few times at 146, including his last fight vs. Clottey.

I just don't see how that 1 pound would make that much of an impact on him.

I hope it gets made. I have no clue on who might win. All I can say for sure is that if Floyd gets caught by the Pacman, it's good night.

On Philippine channel ABS-CBN I saw Roach calling out Mayweather. He said: "Just sign the contract, Floyd. He keeps saying that without Pacquiao I'd just be a &#@%&@ trainer. Go #@%& yourself, Floyd." Of course, they bleeped out the naughty words.

I don't care for Mayweather, or his dad, who has been shown on Philippine TV a number of times mouthing off about Pacquiao. Too much woofing, too much BS. This is the 21st century, and that whole act got old long ago.

Just my 2 cents.
