The current build has the same database and stores the same game stats, so at a core level the games are compatible. However the loading routines have changed as part of the platform independent code allowing us to release TB on mac/linux/iphone/android/pandora etc. It is my plan to write an import routine that will read an old TB2.5 game and convert it into a TB2.6 one. This will most likely be an import option on the startup screen or as an option on the create game dialog.

Yes I would say both Mike and JC have a VERY vested interest in the ability to import an existing universe

Paul,

In regard to the above and such, is there any chance of us getting some of the toys that our baseball friends have? By that I mean where the RFG creates names, birthdates, city and country of birth, physical height and weight etc. Also, that crazy FACEGEN for our fictional (or just missing pictures) worlds? I would think some of that would be a great addition.
Thank you.

It is my intention to improve TB is as many was as practical, but first I need a good foundation. Thats what TB2.6 is giving me the ability to run TB on a number of different systems.

Once TB2.6 is out, Andreas and I will be meeting to discuss what fancy new features TB3 will have. We hope to include members from this forum in those discussions. Then once we have a list of achievable goals, I will run off and do them. So until that meeting I am unable to say yes or no to any idea.

Both Andreas and I love the facegen tech. However there are two issues to consider when adding it. 1) it increases the cost as facegen needs to be licensed. 2) the work to integrate facegen into the game on each supported platform.

Paul,

Thank you for your quick and clear response. I do like the work you have shown us so far. I'd be happy to be part of those future discussions.
Keep up the great work.

Best regards,

JP

Something that I would absolutely love in a new incarnation would be if the auto-ager moved fighters up a division in a random manner. If it was included it could even tie into the conditioning for a fight or two before the move.

Something else for the design team to think about. There are certain attributes of a fighter's ratings that we enter but then don't seem to get used. Reach, height and weight for instance. Draw Power for another. And Hometown. Seems a shame to have these entered for every fighter and never actually use them for something.

This thread started last October and I don't think I've seen much since. Aurelio did post those picture updates back in January.

Paul, has there been any further progress or has this been forced to take a backseat to other projects? I have a feeling a Christmas release of 2.6 is way too optimistic.

We had planned to have TB2.6 out before now, however this has not happened. This means it is now competing with other tasks I have to do, however rest assured it is of great importance to me and I hope to get some more info out soon.

It has not been forgotten and it will be released. Practicalities of life are slowing progress

No flaming cause I understand the frustration. I have just taken the stance now that I am willing to keep the faith and give the benefit of a doubt. Modest expectations = pleasantly surprised at best and not too disappointed at worst.

It really is a shame TBCB is not more of a money maker, as that would get it pushed up the list a bit, but boxing has done this to itself and it makes our game suffer as well.

At this juncture, I'm just happy that OOTP is still carrying TBCB, and we have this forum.

I think Lee has the right stance here.

As it's been said here many times, boxing has sadly become a niche sport. I might disagree with Lee on one point...is TBCB really any sort of a money maker for OOTP?

I don't know.

But it might be time to reflect on the game's history over the past thirty-five years. It has indeed passed through many hands. To it's credit and to the credit of those of us who play it, this bad boy seems to have more lives than an alley cat. You just have to wonder how many lives it has left.

I understand your frustration, I can see how it feels. For what its worth I am frustrated at the delay too. Although TBCB has not been on a back burner nor will it be. I have invested a lot of time in it and I want to get it out there.

I would like to say a MASSIVE THANKS to you all for being patient, it will be worth it (I hope you think so).

Let me just say... even with my YADDA YADDA YADDA comments which comes from hearing the same "we were almost there BUT ____ has happened" for the past few YEARS...

I love this game, In fact a game engine that could progrees fighters without me having to set up every fight, would be great, BUT I really dont require a whole lot of change to the game we already have.

I played the game yesterday afternoon for waay too many hours ! I love it and will support any progress that comes about. I do appreciate the work that has been put into it by all involved and am excited about what's to come.

So, continue on my friends.. more screenshots and or details would be great.

Thats part of the idea behine TBCB3.0 where you play a role in a progressing boxing universe.

Since I started working on this game (less than a year!) I have re-kindled my interest in Boxing. I watched the Heavyweight Irish Title fight last week which I totally loved... A fighter that can switch to southpaw in such an impressive way needs respect IMHO!

I agree 100%!!! This game has brought boxing back into my life! Went many years not paying any attention at all. Now recording every FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS on ESPN!

This game has allowed me to re-live my childhood and experience the passion that made me cry when my parents made me go to bed and not watch Spinks vs Ali.

Thank you for trying to make this... best game already... even better!!
