Update

Hi Guys, as promised here is another update...

I have made good progress and now have a lot of the new skin in place. I have also simulated a bout in 2.6. I am sure you are all dying to see what I have been up to, so here you go:

TBCB 2.6 - Skin - (C) P.I.S.D. Ltd

I would also like to invite all of you to apply to become beta tester for TBCB2.6. If you wish to take part contact Andreas stating your name, which versions of TBCB you have played and on which operating system(s) you are able to test (we will release on Windows, Mac and Linux to start with). You can either PM Andreas on this board or email him at:

andreas@ootpdevelopments.com

Good Luck!

I am at work at the moment so can't watch the video or study the screens too much but my first impression is that the new screens look great, more modern and slicker looking, particularly like this screen

Ok guys, it seems there was an issue with some web browsers not playing the videos I had placed on the skinning page. I have resolved it by converting it to flash. I think this might have made the page a little confusing as it was not clear what was actual game footage and what was an artistic mockup.

So if you did not see the video play I suggest you go back and take another look. While your there feel free to look around the TBCB 2012 development site. This is not the main product website that Andreas maintains, but a small site that I will periodically place information about the games progress.

Dont worry, I will post links here too. I like to have all the information in one place. There is even the very first bout report from TBCB 2012 (2.6), proving I have the fight engine in and working! Yippiee!

We use quite an old web browser at work (IE6) so I will still wait until I get home before viewing the video but thanks for your efforts Paul.

Just a quick note on the skinning page Paul; I find the black writing on a dark blue background quite difficult to read. Any chance this could be changed at some point in the future?

Yes, this is a known issue and I am waiting for a new background image. I hope it will be resolved soon....

FYI: TBCB 2012 is the name we decided on for version 2.6. They are one and the same!

Looks great! I would love to see any upcoming views of the fight screen, animation, PBP, etc. Has there been any improvement there?

Hi there, Paul just checked in a new background graphic, so it should be much more readable now. cheers

hi wiggins,
those screens will definitely be fun. Now that the foundations have been laid and the new skin is being implemented, we'll try to keep you updated more regularly.
As for the animations, I can't promise much, as our time is running out and there would be a lot of work involved with this particular area. For this versions things are probably going to stay very similar to the last tbcb version, while a bigger update is planned for the next one.
Cheers

Many thanks for the update, Paul. One very wee suggestion. In your locker room screen. How about giving the fighters themselves pride of place by having them listed first. They are, after all, the heart and soul of the game.

I'm pleased with what I'm seeing so far. I hope you will make it simple for we gamers to add our own background images to the screens as we were able to do in the past. I have several old time TAD cartoons I use myself.

Just curious. In the near future, will you be enabling gamers to print off ratings and results in some simple format if they choose, or at least enable us to download the same to our mobiles?
