Help with opening a saved game

My Game got that not reponding error. and i had to close the game while it was saving after i updated the data pool. Now when loading my saved game i get an error that reads file divisions .dat could not be loaded . The save game will not load. Is there a way to get the game to work or repair the file.

I hate to lose all my universe.

Any help would be great

It sounds like the division.dat file got corrupted. Go to the backup game file that preceded the closing of the game. Open the backup file and go to the Saved Games folder. Find the Universe folder and open it up. You need to copy and paste the division.dat file to the current Universe folder. It will overwrite the corrupted file and allow the game to open. If this works, all that you will lose is the data you were trying to save when you had to close the game.

Good comment, I believe that I have done that in the past myself but it's been a while.

I sent a note to Andreas so if this doesn't help perhaps he can get involved with you.

Be sure to save the file that you are replacing somewhere else just in case.

I already did that after i posted and it worked fine..

The problem im having now is that everytime i try and save the game it does this. It just sticks on saving fighter.dat.. I believe that this what it did the first time. And the divisions.dat wasn't there is why it said can't open didvisions.dat file.

The problem i'm having is TB2 doesnt want to save..

Can i install a fresh copy of the game over this one and save my saved game folder?

Any thoughts at all.

My OOTP game works fine and others too when saving files so i think it is the TB2 game..

I did do a update data pool could the fighter data be corput in there and this is causing the game to hang like this while saving.

Sure, no problem.

So it loads the universe but you cannot save changes?

Yes it loads the game and i can have matches and everything but when i go to save the changes it always locks up on when it is saving fighters. I've install the game over my old one and it stills does this.

I do update the data pool each time..I'm wondering if i have too many fighters.
I have a dell computer with 3 gig ram running XP pro sp 3 dual prosser with 2.4 mg speed.

What should i try next

Would running online armour firewall be a problem.

Thanks for anything to try
