Screenshots Please!!

2.6 screen shots please!!! Just turned 57, don't know how much longer I have. updated PBP screen shots!!!! Any signs of progress would really be appreciated. Yes, I liked the Title Bout Belt Screen. It was well done, but it just shows you how little we need to get excited. There was a whole page of great remarks on the ONE screen. ONE Screen. Did you ever have that dream where you were trying all dream long to get to a destination, but no matter how hard you tried, you never could get there. that's what this feels like. Thanks for listening. Like the Ground Hog in Groundhog Day, I'll go back in my hole again.

Hi wiggins,
I'm not the greatest poster/blogger, so sorry for the silence...
One good news though, I'm actually working now on the fight screens, so I hope I can post something exciting soon! The old crappy looking fight action images will be replaced, with something better looking. However there is a lot of "painting" involved, thats why it has been taking a while.

In germany we actually say that life starts with 66, so hang in there!

Aurelio, if it isn't in contravention of the Official Secrets Act, can you let us have a better idea of what is replacing the "old crappy looking fight action images" ? Looking forward to seeing the new screenshots before my obituary appears in the local paper....

Sure, I'm basically talking about the "start fight" fight screens, where you have the TV style display of the boxing action (ring, fighters etc). I think those images i did ages ago, look a bit dated, so it was time to do something new.
Now, to anticipate, the replacement will just be a cosmetic change. In other words, nicer images. We won't be able to have animation or something more fancy as for now. But perhaps in the future...
Also was I looking for a kind of "neutral" display of the fighters, in order to leave space for the imagination. This is important imo, as I wont be able for now, to create a set of graphics for each race, sex and weight class.
So, I hope this answers your question more or less (whilst leaving some space for your imagination... ).
Images to follow soon.

Then maybe I should come there to live. I'm 54 and live in the US state of Ohio, where winters are usually very difficult.

A few basic things which should not be too difficult incorporate involving graphics.

1) Have the image of the particular venue in the background of the dialogue box.

2) Have some pop-ups of the trainers/cut men between rounds

3) When the referee is counting for a knokdown, issues a warning, or deducts a point, have his image pop-up.

Since the inception of this forum, there have been hundreds (perhaps close to a thousand!) images of venues, referees, and cutmen/trainers posted by members.

Yet you only see them at the setup/start stage of a match...and then they're out of the process.

Take a look at what Richard Hanna has done with Second And Ten Football and Headed Goal Soccer.

This can't be too much of a challenge to incorporate into the revision and would certainly enhance the game with minimal effort on your part.

If at all possible, have the punches in the graphics match up with the punches in the commentary. This drives me nuts, I'm not sure why there are any graphics at all if it doesn't somehow correlate to what is actually happening with the fight. At least have the appropriate hand (Left-Right.) If you can't do this take the graphics away completely and go back to the old overhead shot, showing ring movement. Having the graphics not match up with the commentary actually takes a ton away from the immersion factor. For those of us who actually fight the fights, this is very important. Please, Please, Whatever you do, please don't leave it the way it is.

Yes, I agree. The idea was, that the images should reflect what was going on in the comment. So thats probably a bug for Paul to fix, or a matter to improve the match engine. Hopefully I will be able to add more images for this version, so the action won't be too repetitive. Thanks for pointing that out though!
