Fighter List for the new game
Jim
Now that we have a list of the Heavyweights that will appear in the new game, what is a realistic entry level fighter for a new manager? (ie. who would you be able to manage from that lsit?) Thanks |

You'll be able to manage any fighter that you can afford and that is willing to sign with you. The basic concept, without getting into too much detail, is this: You can choose to build your stable from fictitious fighters only, real fighters only, or a combination of fictitious and real fighters.
When attempting to sign a fighter, numerous factors will be involved but the prime factor will be your "rating" as a manager: The higher your rating, the better chance of being able to negotiatite with a fighter. Then, once you begin to negotiate, you'll turn in your first offer. If the fighter rejects it, you'll be able to make one counter offer. If he rejects that, you'll not be able to negotiate with him again for one "game" year or until you increase your manager rating. Of course, he may accept your first offer. You'll have a beginning bankroll and will have to decide how best to spend it. Your lifestyle will also have an effect on your finances. Live large and it will cost you but your profile (and therefore your manager's rating will probably go up), for example. Each fighter will also have a dollar value assigned to him, based upon two primary factors: his actual ability (overall fighter rating) and a his draw rating. You'll quickly see that a good fighter with a lousy draw rating will be cheaper than an average fighter with a high draw rating. |

That's it, eh. Not an overly impressive bunch. Looks like mostly active (if you can call them that) heavies. Are they the only guys who will appear in the new game? Will there be add-ons?
Will we be able to "easily" transfer our own fighters to the new game? Cap

Well have to say i am not thrilled
Just hope there are the old uns like Louis, Dempseyand Co or its A NO NO for me. Cap you said it right, what heavy today can you call active, with all that weight they can hardly climb into the ring, let alone fight. Bores me to Death. Saw our so called prospect Harrison last night, weights 18 stone cant jab and punches with his arms. Take a bet with you, first fighter hits him on the chin correct, Goodbye Mr England. He should learn how to put some power into a punch. and get a trainer who can teach him to jab. ( come back Sonny Liston All is Forgiven ) :-) now that guy could jab He has only been in the ring with little guys as yet, pretty sure he has a bad chin to, even in previous fights he has looked uncomfortable when hit by a little guy. Any of you guys out there weight about 200lb and need a manager LOL Beyound 210 or so lb, the little bit of extra power you get is overshadowed by your loss of speed. and badly affects your stamina. But i best be fair, how would a modern trainer know that. :-) On the same bill was our other Champion he lost. Less said about Danny Williams the better Last edited by wildhawke11 : 02-10-2003 at 02:18 AM. |

Don't worry...be happy!
Hey, when Jim referred to putting this list on the site, he said current heavyweights...(in the rules for fighters thread). So I wouldn't worry...
