Need clarification on the "career mode" option

I have asked this before in a different thread but I want to hear it from someone developing the game. Here is my question; will the career mode be included in a patch for the upcoming TBCB game OR will it be in a whole new game TBCB2004 for example?

Second question; if career mode will be for TBCB2004 version, will we (the end user) be able to import current (fictional or real) careers into the next version of the game?

Note: To the guy that answered my question on that other thread, I believe you its just I want to hear it from the "horses mouth" so to speak.....

Let me try to explain what we see the process being:

1. Very soon, the boxing simulation will be released. It will include: a complete graphic overhaul, allowing for much more flexibility, accessibility and functionality; it will include both voice and sound in appropriate areas; it will have an incredible auto-scheduler that allows you to set parameters and then have the computer make the match-ups (if you so desire); it will have a completely revamped and interactive between rounds module (which is also optional to use if you don't want to micro-manage during a fight); it will have revamped commentary, with more variety in the action statements, less color commentary and no contradictory statements; it will contain more statistics; and a plethora of other minor changes - some functional and some cosmetic.

2. Immediately upon release of the boxing simulation, we will begin full time work on the role-playing. It's extremely comprehensive from signing a stable of fighters, to making the matches, to dealing with out of the ring problems, to managing your finances and literally a dozen other things - you can even end up owning your own boxing gym. Fighters will age, new fighters will appear on the scene. Top Ten lists will be generated, etc. We anticipate this taking up to six months to complete and then play test.

3. When Title Bout Championship Boxing II (or whatever it will be called) is released it will come with a new version of the sim, including any revisions/additions and an updated boxing database.

4. There will not be two games. It will be sold as one. As far as pricing goes, it hasn't been decided yet but I think that it would be safe to assume that the second version will be a bit more than the other, considering the fact that a substantial amount of material would be included.

Is there any chance of a lower "upgrade price" on the career mode game, for those people that also bought the sim-only version? Chris H

Honestly, I'm not being evasive. I have no idea how pricing will be handled. I would guess that an "upgrade" price would depend upon how much new will be in the next version and how much time exists between products. Those two factors would be keys. I know how I would set the pricing but while I have input, I am not the final word.

Thanks for responding Jim. I have one question, will we be able to import careers (AI controlled or not) from TBCB "1" into TBCB "2" (so to speak) ? Thanks.

Most definitely. From this point on, we will make sure that all products are backward compatible. I agree with you - it's an important feature that we must recognize.
