I swear to God! If it doesn't show MUCH sooner than most of you anticipate, I will no longer be on this earth, instead occupying one of the lowest rungs of hell. Those of you who have been disgruntled but loyal customers can understand why we are refusing to issue a release date but I can honestly and confidently say it's getting very close to Beta Testing for bugs, final tweakings, etc. For once, I think that you'll be pleasantly surprised rather than the opposite.

Seriously, Jim has it right. We are going to release it when it is ready. Jim has been very open and forthright with the progress of the game. I can tell you that what I have seen is AWESOME.
Please, give Jim and the .400 Staff the chance to prove to you that this is going to be an fantastic experience. I am excited for the Trunzos and the Title Bout game. You all will really like it. I know I am going to. If you do have a question, I am sure Jim will be glad to answer anything you wish, but, the carping about the release date is out of place. I would think you would want a great product instead of something that is half done. I can't wait for the betatesting to begin, so the fans can see what a fantastic product this is going to be. Just my two cents. If you feel the need to flame, try the email address .It still works!

TC Dale your right on. Don't release the game before it's ready! I must say from all I've read/heard so far I'm very impressed. However rushing to market would be a mistake. Jim Trunzo has answered some of my e-mails. I think he knows exactly what everybody is looking for. .400 software studios, I like what your doing. I'll try and be more patient-lol. Just tell me when I can pre-order?

Jim, they complain because they care.
You should just feel good that they've been hyping on it so much. I'm sure it gets annoying all the people complaining about delays, but that's what people do when they want something so bad. Just be glad someone wants your product so bad to actually complain about not having it.

Hope to hear something soon - I am sold that .400SS has great games and support for bugs.
But am considering "World Championship Boxing Manager" if the game won't be out for several months. FYI

Bad move Geo. The WCBM fight engine SUCKS. Fighters are only rated in 8 areas and the cut routine doesn't work. I must have fought 500 fights with that turkey and never had a cut. Besides the latest version that isn't beta and buggy as hell is v 1.03 which came out in 1998! A little more patience bro.

The problem is with this company's use of the word "soon," because they don't use the dictionary definition of the word. I think the way they use it means, "we have no idea when it will come out and it could be a very long time, but we're going to say "soon" because it doesn't commit us to anything and helps keep people from getting too pissed at all the delays."

By assuming you know what is going on at .400 Studios, you make some great leaps of intuition that if we say soon, you think it will be months.
yabanci, by not setting a firm date until everything is ready and testing has begun, might make folks anxious for the game, but to state a release date or timeline that would be false would just be as great an error in our case as the assumption that you state in making that blanket statement about 400. The definition of soon does mean speedily or in a prompt manner, but it also means as Merriam Webster states it, "in agreement with one's choice or preference ." If the Trunzos and .400 do not wish to release a date yet, that is their preference. To call them to task without knowing what goes on in game development on Title Bout just smacks of trollism. Is the progression on Title Bout continuing? You bet. Each day moves us closer to the finalization of the game. Jim Trunzo has been MORE than open and forthright about the game even when it wasn't in his favor, (and has taken some decent blows to the body for some) and it's journey to where it is now. When Jim and Andreas are ready for this game to go to beta testing you will hear it here first. Jim and Tom Trunzo have been very upfront about the development of their classic boxing game. To do them a disservice by assuming you know what is going on behind the scenes is wrong. Until you create something like this yourself, maybe you should realize these are real people with real emotions, feelings, and not some figurehead. Do I get anxious about the game and when it will come out? You bet. Do I think that it will come out sooner than later? Oh yes I do. Do I believe that patience is a virtue? Yes I do. I hate waiting as much as the next guy. But I also know that a rushed product is not a good product. And this one will be a great product. You heard it here first.

T C Dale,
Ahhh...the impatience of youth. I too believe patience is a virtue, it's been said that good things come to those who wait. I'd rather wait a bit and have a "great" game as you stated. Thanks for the above post. Last edited by Hootowl 9 : 07-02-2003 at 10:54 PM. |
