Moving up a weight class

I'm not sure how this is done in the game? I'm not even sure if my thinking is correct about this? From what I've seen, when a fighter moves up in weight class. He seems to lose power[EX-Roberto Duran]. I think the weight actually slows down alot of guys to the point where they lose some pop in their punches. Although Evander Holyfield didn't seem to lose power.

In the previous games, guys fighting an opponent in a heavier class lost power, some punching accuracy, and become more vulnerable to knockdowns. I can't remember if defense was affected or not, but I think so. And some fighters who had substantial careers at multiple weights (Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, etc.) are rated at each of them.

CF goes down 1. HP goes down 1. Chin vs.KD up 1. Chin vs KO up 1. From the old Titlebout rules.

The new game is going to take into account a number of factors but most important what divisions are involved in the move. For example to go from Light-heavyweight to heavyweight would be a significant move as would moving from welterweight to middleweight. Moving from junior flyweight to flyweight, on the other hand, will have little impact on a fighter's ratings. The little guys, with the 3 pound weight difference, go up and down like yo-yo's if you look at many of their individual records. Also, the divisions involved will determine which categories will be affected. Finally, as in the past, archive fighters who spent significant portions of their careers in several weight classes will receive independent ratings.

Wow, that's a really nice refinement of the old system. If that's an indication of the upgrades in the new game, it'll definitely be worth the wait.

Jim,
That sounds great. The "Devil" is in the details for sure. Attention to many things like this will make TBCB a true classic! I'm sure the more you look, the more small things you find...never ending...lol I'd rather things take just a bit longer as the team makes some subtle refinements. The wait will be ohooo so worth it!
