A Couple Questions
1. In the Title Fight 2001 game, if you instructed your boxer to follow a strategy and he didn't do it, "Fight Inside" (or whatever you had chosen) would revert to "Normal." In the new game, it appears to me the only way to tell if the boxer is following the strategy is to watch if his ratings change at the beginning of the round. Is there a way to patch it to make it simpler like in the previous game, so that if the strategy is not going to be followed, it just reads as, "Normal?"
2. I liked the abiltiy in the previous version to be able to edit my fighter's history. For example, if I wanted to undo a match result, I could delete the match from the fighter's record, adjust his win/loss field, and it was like the fight never happened. Or if I wanted to award my fighter a belt (say after I forgot to put it on the line in a match he won), I could simply check the appropriate box that made him the WBO champion. Again, is there anyway these features might return in a patch? 3. And just for official clarification, if you are not using strategies, but the game ask you if you want a hurt fighter to "Cover Up," is it more or less realistic for him to do so? Thanks in advance, your help is much appreciated. Last edited by Hollywood Blond : 12-28-2003 at 04:43 AM. |

Hollywood in regard to your 3rd question i told you this already
Its your choice, in fact if i recall it correct in the old Title Fight 2001 even using no strategy's the computer would use a cover up. Unlike the KOs it does not i feel affect the realism of the game much in one way or another. But like i always add that's just my opinion. If you push me for an answer OK -- use it. THE TRUTH IS AS FOLLOWS I tried to keep it as simple within reason as i could, because in fact each and ever fighter in real life reacts differently when hurt. Some like the retired Middleweight Nigel Benn will not cover up but desperately fight back. Others like retired Joe Louis will be very bad at using cover up as they seldom had to use it. So when forced to cover up Louis would find it a little alien to him, hence i feel would not be very good when forced into that position. More for example like retired Frank Bruno will neither fight back much or use cover up. Reason being once badly hurt they just seem paralysed and unable to move or defend themselves in any way. My self personally i alter my ratings to reflect this. But unless you wish to run through about 3000 plus fighters ratings, i would suggest for realism you do use *cover up* But again as i stated one way or another the game will not become less realistic in my opinion which route you choose to take The average fighter will i feel try to cover up. I Feel most who in someway have been connected to the fight game in one way or another would be inclined to more or less go along with my point of view. Again to cover my ass i add just my thoughts Danny ![]() |

wildhawke11-Sorry, I didn't mean to undermine your answer. I've been playing by what you told me, but I was just checking to see if the Trunzos had a definitive answer on the matter. I agree with your point--the fighters all react differently; some would Cover Up and other wouldn't. But I was just seeing with them what, in general, would produce the most realistic results (like I'm sure a number of people on this board are, I'm a realism freak
). I have a feeling that you're correct, and the Cover Up should be generally used. Thanks again for your help. |
