Scorecards
I am not real knowlegable about pro boxing, but in Title Bout there seems to be a lot of 10-9 scores on the scorecards. Is that usual in actual boxing? There also seems to be too much variance between the scores on the main fight screen and the points on the scorecards. Can anybody comment on this?

10-9 is a normal score where one fighter wins the round without dominating or scoring any knockdowns so, yes, it is usual...As far as the scoring being different they are only a guide basically but as everyone can attest, what you see is NOT always what you get in boxing...

You're using a 10 point must system. That means the winner of a round gets 10 points. The loser gets 9 or less (even rounds are 10-10). Typically, the round will always be scored 10-9 in this game (and in real life boxing) unless there has been a knockdown scored. If there's been a knockdown, the round is typically scored 10-8. Sometimes exceptions occur (more than 1 KD will sometimes be scored 10-7; a very dominant round w/o a KD will sometimes be 10-8; a fighter who scores a KD but was getting dominated in the round sometimes doesn't get the 10-8 round). Also, points can be deducted for fouls.
The variance b/w the screen scoring and the scorecards is designed to simulate the difficulty of scoring close rounds or to take into consideration certain judge biases just like in RLB. |
