Two Questions
In reading over some of the great stuff that has already been contributed on this board, I came up with two questions.
1) If you have assigned the same trainer to two different fighters, what happens when these two fighters meet? Should there be a secondary trainer assigned as the trainer would have to make a choice. This must have some effect on the psyche of the fighter not chosen.... 2) What if any effect in the game does Date of Birth or Death have? Or is this intended more for use with the role-play version? What about career dates? I'm faced with the daunting task of assigning career years to some 800 fighters I will import from TF2K1. Cap

Cap, the career dates are only used for auto scheduling. You can let the auto scheduler schedule only fighters who have been active in 1950 for example. If you don't need that feature, you don't need to enter that date.
The Date ob birth or death don't have any functionality, it's just informational, like the boxrec.com ID, the website link, and so on. Regarding your issue #1: If you assigned the same trainer for those two fighters, he will simply be used for both. Doesn't look realistic, that's right- but you have to take care of this yourself currently.

Getting Interesting
Ok. Regarding Career dates and the autoscheduler.
I haven't started doing anything heavy with TBCB because I've been waiting for the import tool. In my old universe, I had created separate storage areas for fighters to wait until I was ready for them. There was one for 1930s fighters, 1940s, etc. The fighters I was using were in a group roughly called 1890-1920 or something. Then there was the last group called "Retirees" where I sent retired fighters. The only rankings came from the main group 1890. The original Archive and Modern groups still exist, but I only used them to help create fighters for the main group or the other Era groups. When I import my old fighters to TBCB, everything looks OK. They all seem to be there. There are no career dates or nationalities because they weren't there before in TF2K1. One thing I hadn't counted on was my main group of fighters becoming "active" when imported. That means, unless I change each one to "retired" I won't be able to use the career stages. Like I said, interesting. When I look in my imported groups, I notice some few fighters are retired, but most are active. Is there something I can do in TF2K1 now so that when I import again my main fighters (who actually are all retired or dead) will be considered "Retired" by TBCB? I don't want to have to change each guy one by one. For a first attempt, the import tool works really well. Cap
