Wow...so a fighter with a "go for knockout" rating of 3 could conceivably choose that strategy in every round and have it work 60% of the time (assuming average trainer and intelligence scores of 5 each)? That'll give him twice as many uses in a 10-round fight as the old system did. I agree that it's more realistic, but it really increases the chances of unbalancing the game.

Has there been any testing of the "offensive" strategies like go for KD and fighting inside to see if they increase the fighter's chance of losing as much as they do of winning?

Jeff, it really depends upon the fighting using the strategy. If the fighter employing it has only a decent chin at best, the use of "go for KO" can really backfire. If the fighter has a good chin, the strategy can be almost overly effective - however, even in that case if he doesn't get the KD/KO, he could easily use the round due to his complete neglect of defense.

That makes sense, Jim. If I have the time I'll do a little testing of my own to see if there's any one type of fighter that's getting an unfair advantage.
