Quite frankly!
I have no doubt that TBCB will be an excellent game and provide alot of fun for each and every one of us when the bugs are worked out and the patches are all downloaded. However, at this point, quite frankly, I think TF2001 is a much better game and certainly more user friendly in terms of creating your own universe. Am I alone here? What I did was I went through all the divisions on TBCB and picked out all the top gun fighters whose ratings had been changed since TF2001 and the potential great fighters (like Guinn, Mesi, Calzaghe, etc), wrote down their ratings and "created" them in TF2001 as well as adding them to my calendar which I got from Cube's sight. I use his system for simming my universe and for anyone who hasn't checked it out, I HIGHLY recommend it. It is very realistic, sophisticated and fun. It took me awhile to fully understand the system but after picking Cube's brain I finally understood and I am having a blast still using TF2001.

I really can't see how TF2001 could be considered a better game than TBCB but eveyone views thing differently. As far as your belief that TF2001 better lent itself to creating your own universe, you might be right. TF2001 was considered an all-in-one program in some sense; TBCB concentrated on being a straight and pure boxing sim because we knew that we would be doing a role-playing game a year later. I'm sorry that you haven't been able to get the enjoyment out of it you wanted, and I hope we can better meet your expectations in the future with the role-playing version. If I can be of any help with the old version, please contact me, Bad Guy.

How can you have a boxing universe where everyone isn't out there fighting. You really must have carpel tunnel by now. |

TF2001 was the first boxing simulation I ever bought after wanting one for over 30 years. I was filled with excitement and anticipation. I tried to love it.
I hated it. It was unplayable for me. I thought it was terrible. I respect your right to enjoy it. This game TBCB has me addicted. I play it too much. I do love it. I am so glad I did not let TF2001 influence me. I just wanted to mention this. |

Thanks! That made me breathing again... Stopped breathing when starting to read this thread and almost became unconscious
![]() thebadguy, what exactly is missing in TBCB what you're needing to create your boxing universe? Maybe we can add it in TBCB?!

Although at times in my private messages to them they may have thought otherwise. But Andrea's in spite of what i have just wrote, don't worry if i think something is wrong in your game i will still rock your boat a little For me to take any other route, would be an insult to the Team. and do an injustice to a Great Simulation. I thoroughly enjoyed TF2001 as many here can attest...my IPBA website was proof of that...that being said...
TBCB is lights out...heads over heels...just so much better. Now that I'm comfortable with the program...my new IPBA universe is coming along fine...its taking me awhile because I'm adding lots of low-rated fighters...just takes time. Currently I've got about 10 weight divisions done and IPBA sanctioned bouts are taking place. I LOVE the auto-scheduler....that was my biggest pet peeve with TF2002...I created my own way of scheduling bouts but it was clumsy and time-consuming. TBCB's auto scheduler works great for what I'm doing. I'm thrilled with it...plain & simple. the only time I open TF2001 is to retrieve ratings from fighters I've created or fighters not in TBCB. |

I suppose I should re-phrase my post. TBCB IS a better game, TF2001 is better for universes. Thats what I meant. So right now, TF2001 is more suited for me because of how I play. By the way, using Cube's system, everyone and I mean EVERYONE is involved and fighting no matter which version you use.

Andreas, as far as adding things to TBCB, I just have a few: The ability to copy and paste as many fighters as you want at the same time, being able to use active fighters in any career stage without changing them all to retired, and finally, when I click on the "ALL' button, I dont want to see each copied fighters name twice. Whenever you copy someone and then put him in your universe, you get duplicate names of that person in the "all" view. So right now, everyone in every division is listed TWICE.
Does that last part about duplicate fighters make sense? Its kinda hard to explain.

The things that would make the game better for ME would be the following:
1. Better rankings(already on the way). 2. Randomly assigned judges/refs/announcers/venues for the auto-scheduler while still maintaining the ability to pick/choose for those who want to. 3. A calendar from say 1800-2200. Five hundred years should be plenty. :-) 4. Ability to assign ranking styles to Sanctioning bodies we create. 5. Printing abilities(to file and to paper) for any page. Thanks for listening |
