Copy from Group to Group?

One of the things I've asked for (and so have others) is the ability to copy fighters from one group to another group. Is this being worked on and, if so, will it appear in the next patch? Thanks.

Bill

I know that there are issues surrounding the possibility of making this feature work better in the future. However, it is already possible to copy fighters and then move them to any group that you want. Are you having any trouble with that aspect by any chance?

Tell me how? Here is what I want to do:

1) Create a new group called "Boxers1880 to 1920"

2) I then want to copy John L Sullivan, Corbett, Jeffries, etc from the "Men" group to this new group call "Boxers1880 to 1920"

3) Then I want to add other "new" Boxers from that era to this new group.

4) I then want to delete the default MEN and WOMEN boxers' groups.

5) I want "my ENTIRE database" to ONLY include the boxers from the era 1880 to 1920.

I don't believe that this can be done as the program is designed at the present time. The only way it can be done is via by "manually copying" over each Boxer I need from the default MEN group to my 1880_1920 group using two computers. Then deleting the MEN group after I'm finished.

What I want is a "database" that only includes these old boxers. Nothing else. The reason I'm asking about this is because IF this can't be done now or in the future -- then I'll just go ahead a manually copy them. But, if in the future you can do this -- then I might wait until then.

If I'm wrong and it can be done -- please explain how it can be done. Thanks.

Bill

Okay, step-by-step:

1. Open the "Fighters" screen.
2. On the first fighter record you see, click on the small right-arrow at the end of the "Group" line. The screen will change to show the current groups.
3. Click on "New" at the bottom. When you do this, the "Name" field at the right will become blank. Enter 'Boxers 1880 to 1920' in that field, then click on "Save" at the bottom right. The new group should appear on the list at the left. Click on "Close" to return to the Fighters screen.
4. Now go through all the fighters you want to move and change their Group from 'Men' to 'Boxers 1880 to 1920'. Once you've moved all the fighters you want, click on the right-arrow beside "Group" again.
5. Click on 'Men' on the list at the left, then "Delete". It'll ask you if you really want to delete the group, then it'll ask if you want to delete all the fighters in it. Say yes to both, and then do the same for the 'Women' group.

That's it, you'll be left with one group called 'Boxers 1880 to 1920' that has only the fighters you want in it. No need to manually copy anything.

Thank you Jeff.

One caveat though to creating groups from the fighter records screen is that when you return the new groups will appear as an option in the drop-down menu on the fighter’s side (right side) but not on main drop-down side (left side).

To remedy this for the time being either create all new groups directly from the Groups option on the main screen or simply exit the fighter records screen and then re-enter to see the effects of the changes.

Thanks -- that appears to work! I'm busy watching the football game, but it seems to work OK. I never noticed the Groups on the Boxers info screen. But I haven't spent that much time with TBB because of TPF. However, now I can get started on my Mod.

Thanks again.

Are you clicking on the small red arrow to the right of where the Group is listen on a fighter's record? The screen should change away from the fighter screen to the Groups screen when you do that.
