Questions

I was wondering if you manage the fighters in this game. Do you have a stable of fighters, train them, schedule their fights, and then guide them through the rankings? Thanks!

Right now the game is a replay simulation. You have 1000s of actual fighters, current and retired, rated by the game developers, who between them have about a billion man-years of boxing study expertise. You can stage fights between any and all of the boxers in the database as single fights, fight cards and tournaments.

A "role playing" module is planned for the future. I've heard you'll be able to manage a stable of fighters.

The current replay-only version of the game does let you create fighters one at a time. You can create and rate boxers from the past that were not included in the game's database, boxers you saw at your city's public auditorium last Friday, or completely imaginary boxers you can then use in "what if" bouts against Ali, Marciano, Johnson, Leonard, etc.

The game lets you update a fighter's record, and ranks them for when you want to have championship fights, sort out contenders, etc.

Before the game was released I was disappointed that it would not include a role playing module from the beginning. But I have found the replay-only actual release to be a HUGE (and I mean HUGE) amount of fun. Well worth the money. If I want to have a stable of fighters that are "mine" I just create some and keep track of them manually.

I hope this helps.

The people on this forum are very nice and helpful, and most of them (not me) are extremely knowledgeable about boxing, so if you get the game and don't understand something, ask away.
