How Rare is This?
I just finished a (fictional) women's match: Linley vs. Cafarella. Linley landed 23 punches in 51 seconds, and the match was stopped by the doctor due to a severe cut above Cafarella's right eye. Cafarella apparently spent the whole match staring at her opponent.
My question is, is this extremely rare in the real world of boxing? Aside from a few Tyson fights that were well-publicized, I can't think of any matches that were stopped THAT quick, especially due to a cut or other injury. Of course, as you all know, I don't know much about boxing at all. ![]()

I would say it depends on how bad the cut was, if it was a deep gash due to the pugilist that cuts easy or a nasty head butt even in the first few seconds of the first round it could very well be stopped by the ref or ring physician.
