Drawing Power

I had a thought (gasp!) about drawing power. Should it somehow be tied to a fighter's record and ranking?

Also should it matter what Venue would be needed for 2 guys who draw big? Madison Square Garden vs. Banana Joe's.

(BTW what happened to the Banana Joe's Venue from TF2001?)

IIRC it is used to determine the size of purses and what kind of coverage a fight card gets. Not sure if it is used any other way atm.

Tyson, Dempsey these sort of fighters could sell tickets, in other words put bums on seats, so they have a high number for drawing power a 9 or a 10. which of course meant big gates and ticket sales.

The fighter who is less exciting to watch might only have a drawing power of 4 or 5. Less people come to his fights so
bad ticket sales is the result when he fights.

Got that part.

Does it have any bearing on the game other than on the fight cards?

By the way Danny, Oscar vs. Hopkins in June? Is this gonna happen? Who do you like?

Pitt: You think Oscar wants Hopkins this June? That's a tough fight to take before trying to get Tito back in the ring in the Fall. Hopkins beat up a decent legit Middleweight in Joppy so if I were advising Oscar, I'd tell him he has a lot more to lose @ this time fighting Hopkins right now.

Hopkins i feel is just to strong for Oscar,
One of the problems as well is both would demand a big share of the purse. But who knows ?

Hamed---I agree. This is a rumour that has been swirling around ever sicne Oscar said he wants to be back in the ring in June.

Danny---Hopkins is getting old, he can't wait to dictate every aspect of the encounter like he wants. Oscar has the "draw power."

Personally I think it would be an exciting fight. At this point, I think I would have to say that I see Hopkins teaching Oscar a lesson.
