How long for tech support?
Hey guys, for those of you who have had to use tech support for your e-license...how long did it take for a response? I've had a number of problems just obtaining the license and now that I have it, it won't install. I've sent support two seperate forms well over 24 hours ago and have gotten no reponse yet. Just wondering if that's normal.

They are usually fairly prompt about it. If you dont hear anything from them in the next 24 hours I try contacting again, or see if there is a telephone number to call. The times I have dealt with them I have usually gotten replies the day afte I submitted a question to them.

I'm trying to license to an off line PC. I obtained the license, copied and pasted both the request and the license to the other PC. When I click on "Install off line license" I get an error 96, that my license doesnt match with my request. I've even tried deleting the text files and doing it all over again a few times but I get the same error.
It sure does suck I have new notebook that I bought specifically for my sims and I was really excited last night that I could start running the league again but...ah, hopefully they'll get back to me. I can't be the only one to ever have this happen. I'm sure it's something really easy to correct. |

Just a thought because I had a similar problem in the past...does the user name on your laptop =the user name on your PC where you obtained the license? I had a problem where I changed the user name in my system and when I tried to reinstall some programs using elicense it must have thought I had stolen the program because it would not let me install either. I had changed it when setting up a LAN and I had to change it back to install. I also had a problem one time where my credit card info, when I bought the game, did not match the user name for my laptop. I could not install there either until I changed it to conform with what the elicense software was expecting. It is designed to only allow the supposed "true" licensee to install and sometimes it doesn't have the best brain. ![]() They are usually really prompt about answering and I know they spent a lot of times trading e-mails with me on a couple of occasions so hopefully you will get running soon. Strange but I did not see any error 96 on their web either- http://www.elicense.com/how/faq.asp#errors Last edited by LeeSkye : 02-14-2004 at 05:22 PM. |

I assume you mean the user names that I have Windows registered under, right? If so, then no. My desktop (where I obtained the license) user name is both myself and my wife (Win98), my notebook (off line) is registered to me, with users being under just my first name and another under my wifes first name (Win XP). My credit card is my name with middle initial included. I'll try changing my XP user name to match this PC and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion.
