Steve McCrory?

Does anyone here ever recall ever seeing any stats of him as a fighter for the game?

Was going to look into rating him, Hamed, but BoxRec is all funked up and I couldn't get in to get his record. He should be in the game, IMHO. Will try again later ...

He definitely deserves to be in the game. Gold medalist & pro champ, his Olympic revenge loss to Fenech for the title was a very good fight. His death was a tragedy . . . another guy who couldn't keep it together after retirement.

It must have been about 4 years ago that he died. Apparently he was heavy into drugs & alcohol at the time. I don't recall the exact cause of death, but I do remember that he had already sold his Olympic gold medal.

Cool McCrory try

McCrory was tough to rate because he had only three "markers" (guys rated by TBCB) to go on for comparative purposes: He beat Cargle and lost to Leija and Fenech. I had to do a lot of surfing/reading and looking at stats, but this is pretty close. He may be a little high, but fiddle with the stats however you want. I just know he beats Cargle and loses to Leija and Fenech most of the time in trials. His KO percentage is pretty close against guys ranked 1-4 , also. Enjoy!

Hamed;
After he lost to Fenech for the bantamweight title, he immediately lost to Sanabria on the heels of that bout. There was speculation he wasn't strong enough, so he moved up to super bantam (aka junior feather) where he fought his next 16 fights and won his lone pro title, the WBC Cont. Amer. super bantam belt.

Of his 36 pro fights, he fought 16 times at junior feather, 14 times at bantam, one at junior bantam and 9 at feather. I guess an argument is there for making him a bantam, and you're welcome to do so, but BoxRec also lists him at super bantam.

Works for me vista, thanks! I loved all that info you put in his bio section too!

Looks like Steve will be getting a shot @ my WBA champ (Willie Jorrin) who wants an optional title defense before he's forced into a mandatory with some of the bigger punchers looming out there.

Like this one, for instance? I'll take that $100,000 in $20s, Crusade! LOL

P.S.: I probably should have added in the bio blurb that Stevie was the brother of WBC welterweight champ Milton "Ice Man" McCrory.
